Like a reverie in the void

Like a reverie in the void,
my mind wanders far away
to a place of magic and smooth,
where the moon is my friend,
my faithful and lonely companion.
I gaze at it with wistful longing
from my eyes that see the mirage
of her silvery light reflected in the lake,
illuminating with a faint glow
the still waters where my soul nests.
My mind flies on wings of illusion
after her, so distant and mysterious,
that she inspires poetry in my heart.
Though time passes with tardy slowness,
together in ecstasy we soar, she and I,
towards the stars in dreamy adventure.
