[ESP-ING] Bullfighters' Memorial Museum

I recently visited the Maracay Bullring, and Mr. Elpidio also took me to a small house he owns where he has a small museum with photos, bullfighting articles, bull heads, bullfighters' costumes, and many of his own memories from the time he arrived at the bullring and stayed there for the rest of his life.

Mr. Elpidio got married here because there is a small chapel here, which, according to him, is dedicated to the Virgin of Macarena, who is greatly revered by bullfighters. I believe this belief is Spanish, as I had heard of it before. I took a photo of this chapel, which was closed because it is currently being used to store construction equipment such as paint and other items for work on the bullring.

Among the photos of bullfighters were, of course, the Girón brothers, who were Venezuela's favorites, as well as César Rincón, a great bullfighter, José Nelo, Erick Cortez, Rafael Orellana, Bernardo Valencia, and Luis Sanchez Olivares, all of whom were Venezuelan bullfighters.

What surprised me was seeing female bullfighters in the forums. There was a large photograph of Mary Paz Vega, a Spanish bullfighter who came to Maracay in 1998. I was told that she gave a great performance and that the spectators were enchanted by her beauty. When I searched for information on the internet, I realized that there were many women bullfighters. She learned the art because her father was a renowned bullfighter.

I really liked that Mr. Elpidio gave me a pamphlet about a bullfight, and where the bullfighters go, there is a blank space for you to write your name. He said that those pamphlets were made a long time ago and he had some left over, so he has often given them away.

This visit was quite enjoyable, full of stories and many photographs that will remain here on Hive as a memento.

Hace poco que visite la Plaza de toros de Maracay, también el sr Elpidio me llevó a una pequeña casa de su propiedad donde tiene como un pequeño museo, donde se encuentran Fotos, artículos de corridas, cabezas de toros, trajes de toreros entre muchos recuerdos de él mismo en la época que llegó a la Plaza de toros y allí se quedó viviendo toda su vida.

El sr elpidio se caso aquí en este lugar ya que aquí existe una pequeña capilla, según él, es de la virgen de la Macarena a la cual creen mucho los toreros, está creencia es Española a mi parecer pues ya lo había escuchado antes, igual le tomé foto a esta capilla que estaba cerrada pues por los momentos aquí se guardan los implementos de construcción como pintura y otras cosas para la obra de la plaza.

Entre las fotos de los toreros estaban por supuesto los hermanos Girón, quienes eran los favoritos de Venezuela, también César Rincón un gran torero, José Nelo, Erick Cortez, Rafael Orellana, Bernardo Valencia, Luis Sanchez Olivares, todos estos toreros venezolanos.

Lo que me sorprendió fue ver en foros a mujeres toreros, allí había una gran fotografía de Mary Paz Vega, una torera Española que vino a Maracay en 1998 y me cuentan que hizo una gran corrida, además dejaba a los espectadores encantados con su belleza, al buscar información en las redes me di cuenta que habían muchas mujeres toreando, ella aprendió pues su padre era un reconocido torero.

Me gustó mucho que el sr Elpidio me regalo un panfleto de una corrida y donde van los toreros hay como un espacio en Blanco para que uno le coloque su nombre, dijo que esos panfletos los hicieron hace tiempo y a él le quedaron algunos, por lo cual muchas veces ha regalado varios.

Esta visita fue bastante agradable, llena de historias y muchas fotografías que quedarán plasmadas aquí en Hive para el recuerdo.
