How to #IntroduceYourself to Hive || Cómo hacer tu #Presentacion en Hive
I constantly get questions about what things a Hive introduction post should contain and I have explained it individually that same amount of times. And I know I'm not the only one who gets asked about this and I'm sure there are a lot of users who support newcomers, advising them and giving them recommendations. But still there are many posts that don't meet the minimum requirements and pass under the table, without receiving anyone's support and without fulfilling their role of becoming a real gateway to Hive.
So today I decided to capture and show you some of the recommendations I usually give that I think are the foundation of an effective #introduceyourself post.
Permanentemente me llegan consultas acerca de qué cosas debe contener un post de presentación a Hive y esa misma cantidad de veces lo he explicado de manera individual. Y sé que no soy el único al que le preguntan sobre esto y estoy seguro de cantidad de usuarios que apoyan a los nuevos, asesorándolos y dándoles recomendaciones. Pero aún así hay muchas publicaciones que no cumplen con los requerimientos mínimos y pasan por debajo de la mesa, sin recibir el apoyo de nadie y sin cumplir su papel de convertirse en una verdadera puerta de entrada a Hive.
Así que hoy decidí plasmar algunas de las recomendaciones que suelo dar y que pienso que son el fundamento de un #introduceyourself efectivo.

The first recommendation I have to give you is that you go in and look for posts with that tag, so you can see how other people are doing their introduction posts. Not with the idea that you copy them, but rather to see how other people approach it.
Of course, it may happen that you find some posts more creative than others, or that the day you check you find nothing interesting.
But this is a good starting point for you to see what possibilities there are. Once you have done your research and reviewed several introductions, decide how you are going to design your own.
La primera recomendación es que entres a buscar publicaciones con esa etiqueta, para que veas de qué manera las hacen otras personas. No con la idea que te copies, sino para que veas lo cómo lo enfocan las demás personas.
Por supuesto, puede suceder que encuentres unas publicaciones más creativas que otras, o que el día que revises no encuentres nada interesante.
Pero este es un buen punto de partida para que veas las posibilidades que hay. Una vez hayas hecho tu búsqueda y revisado varias presentaciones, decide de qué manera vas a concebir la tuya.

General considerations

Remember that you are coming to a place where what is valued above all else is originality and creativity. For this very reason it is evident that it is not about showing a formal Curriculum Vitae, like someone who is going to apply for a job. This is your first opportunity to show how witty you can be, how nice it can be to tell who you are and that, for sure, it will be worth reading the whole post and, in addition, to follow you so as not to lose a single one of your nice writings...
Be original and with quality. Those two should be the fundamental premises!
Recuerda que estás llegando a un sitio donde lo que se valora por encima de todas las cosas, es la originalidad y la creatividad. Por esta misma razón resulta evidente que no se trata de mostrar un Curriculum Vitae formal, como quien va a solicitar un empleo. Esta es tu primera oportunidad de mostrar lo ingenioso que puedes ser, lo agradable que puede resultar contar quién eres y que, con toda seguridad, valdrá la pena leer el post completo y, además, hacerte follow para no perder ni una solo de tus agradables escritos…
Ser original y con calidad. ¡Esas dos deberían ser las premisas fundamentales!

Although some anonymity is allowed, it is more feasible for any person, curator or community, to trust that it is a real account, as long as you say your real name, your age, post pictures of yourself, tell us about your likes and hobbies, how you came to Hive and what you expect to find and contribute to it.
For some communities, especially those that monitor the good use of the platform, they prefer that you also indicate an account in other social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
Telling the origin or reason for your username, in case it is different from your name, can be an important and interesting detail. Although it may be that your real name is curious enough and deserves an explanation!

Para algunas comunidades, especialmente las que vigilan el buen uso de la plataforma, prefieren que indiques también alguna cuenta en otra redes sociales, como Facebook, Instagram o Twitter.
Contar el origen o razón de tu nombre de usuario, en caso de ser distinto a tu nombre, puede ser un detalle importante. ¡Aunque puede ser que tu verdadero nombre sea lo suficientemente curioso y merezca una explicación!

As I said before, creativity and originality are two elements highly appreciated in Hive.
Therefore, if you are a creator, you can show part of what you do, in this first publication: a poem written by you, a video where you show your talent as a singer, dancer, declaimer; photos of the delicious cakes you prepare, or your best photographic works, the dresses you sew, in short... That's where you have to do your part and show all your talents!

If you've already read it or are already familiar with it, you should know that Hive is divided into thematic communities, which can be about cooking, photography, music, literature, or whatever. But there are also general communities that allow all kinds of content. These are ideal for making your presentation to the entire Hive community.

Si ya la leíste o ya estás familiarizado, deberías saber que Hive se divide en comunidades temáticas, que pueden ser de cocina, fotografía, música, literatura, o lo que sea. Pero también hay comunidades generales que permiten todo tipo de contenido. Esta son las ideales para hacer tu presentación ante la comunidad completa de Hive.
Algunas de esta opciones son

Pero también están las tribus, como la de Leofinance.io, Palnet.io, Musicforlife.io y muchas otras, que además de publicar a Hive y generarte ingresos en la moneda de mismo nombre, te permiten ganar otros tokens. Es un tema que puedes explorar, pero que no voy a desarrollar en esta publicación, pues nos desviaría del tema principal.

The tags or labels have nowadays different functions in Hive. The first of them is the one that will place your post in a certain category, so that is the most important one. However, the greatest weight will be given to the first five. They are also linked in some cases to the tribes indicated above.
But it is clear that for this introduction the first tag should be #introduceyourself and I recommend the second one, the one corresponding to your language, unless it is English.
Some people add variations such as #introducemyself, #introduction or the variant in the user's language.
After these, you can place tags related to the tribes you plan to be associated with, such as #proofofbrain, #musicforlife, #leofinance, #creativecoin, and to the topics that are of interest to you and on which you plan to post, such as #music, #photography, etc.
If you are going to write only in a language other than English, it would be best to use the tags in their respective language.
Los tags o etiquestas tiene hoy en día distintas funciones en Hive. La primera de ellas es la que va a colocar tu publicación en determinada categoría, por eso la más importante es esa. Sin embargo, el mayor peso la van a tener las primeras cinco. Ellas también están vinculadas en algunos casos a las tribus indicadas arriba.
Pero está claro que para esta presentación la primera etiqueta debe ser #introduceyourself y yo recomiendo de segunda, la correspondiente a tu idioma, a menos que este sea el inglés.
Hay quienes agregan variaciones tales como #introducemyself, #introduction o la variante en el idioma del usuario.
Después de estas, puede colocar las etiquetas relacionadas con las tribus a las que piense asociarse, tales como #proofofbrain, #musicforlife, #leofinance, #creativecoin, y a los temas que son de su interés y en los cuales tiene previsto publicar, tales como #music, #photography, etc.
Si vas a escribir únicamente en un idioma distinto al inglés, lo más recomendable sería usar las etiquetas en su respectivo idioma.

The look of your introduction, the photos (especially the first one, which will be the protagonist), the design, all this will have an impact on the users who come to it. Try to dedicate the necessary time to make a post that is pleasing to the eye and that provokes people to read it.
A recommendation that I repeat over and over again: Separate your ideas into paragraphs, make use of the separating dot and new paragraph, which allows a better understanding of your texts and gives space to the design! It is also nicer to leave double spacing between paragraphs, so this is also my recommendation.
For your publications, never skimp on effort, photos, drawings, videos or any other element that can become an added value, but do always give credit to the author of any external resource you are going to use!
El aspecto que tenga tu presentación, las fotos (especialmente la primera que va a ser la protagonista), el diseño, todo eso va a tener su impacto en los usuarios que lleguen a ella. Trata de dedicarle el tiempo necesario para hacer una post que resulte agradable a la vista y que provoque leerlo.
Una recomendación que repito una y otra vez: ¡Separa tus ideas en párrafos, dale uso al punto y aparte, que permite entender mejor tus textos y le dan espacio al diseño! También resulta más bonito dejar doble espacio entre párrafos, por lo que también es mi recomendación.
Para tus publicaciones nunca escatimes en esfuerzo, en fotos, dibujos, videos o cualquier otro elemento que pueda convertirse en valor agregado. ¡Pero eso sí, siempre dale crédito al autor de cualquier recurso ajeno que vayas a utilizar!

All very great pointers for a newbie. Apart from not writing a formal Curriculum Vitae, I would also add there is no need to go to great lengths about their family, siblings, what their parents and aunty and uncle do for a living, cousins, and best friends and everyone's education and high school graduation grade. The self introduction post is about the user, not the rest of their family.
