Hey all :)Here I come this time with a duet featuring my friend from Puerto Rico Kenneth Élan. Click play to watch/listen

This duet sung along with my friend Kenneth Élan aka GreenHearted We had previously collaborated in this other video "Away" (Reprise) also on my channel.

I also had made a drawing for Kenneth as support

This song "My true Love's eyes" from the movie Legend is a tribute to one of my favorite composers: JERRY GOLDSMITH (rest in peace) and is part of the Soundrack for the Fantasy film Legend directed by Ridley Scott in 1985 starring Tom Cruise, Mia Sara and Tim Curry among others. The movie had 2 different scores, one by Jerry Goldsmith in Europe, and another released by Tangerine Dream (in America, and maybe more popular). I like them both but this is a fan tribute to Goldsmith's version (let me know in the comments if you'd like me to do a cover of the other version as well). This particular song reminds me also to his lullaby for Nimh (another of my childhood favourites).

As you know I compose my own fantasy music but sometimes I share these "geek" covers that are also "thank you notes" to my influences. It happens to be also one of Kenneth's (dueting with me) favourites so that's how we ended up building up this version.

LYRICS

Legend OST Goldsmith - by Priscilla Hernandez (yidneth.com)-2 (1).jpg

Come white moss weave us a carpet
Spreading oak, make a shade where we lie
Leaves and Branches whisper a love song
when I look in my true love's eyes
Young as any Spring, his eyes almost sing to me
Come white moss weave us a carpet
Spreading oak, make a shade where we lie
Leaves and Branches whisper a love song
when I look in my true love's eyes
Young as any Spring, his eyes almost sing to me

And here a portrait I made for Kenneth as he has collaborated with his vocals in this and a previous duet

This song is also known "Living River/Bumps and Hollows" and all its parts together as "Princess Lily's Chant" with music by Jerry Goldsmith and lyrics by John Bettis, as the fair maiden sings to calm down the Unicorns. If you haven't watched the movie I highly recommend it, and please watch it twice with its two different scores as the entire movie becomes a different experience with each one of them. As for today this is the Goldsmith version (who also composed some of my favourite soundtracks like Poltergeist, Alien and Nimh among others).

What are your favourite fantasy movies?

Do you know this movie? what are your favourite fantasy movies?
I've been revisiting and covering some of my old vintage fantasy classics like Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, this and soon The Neverending Story.

Find the Rats

By the way AS ALWAYS find the 🐀 in the video :) There is always a rattie (or more) hidden in my videos, if you find them, don't spoil the game but let me know in the comments! :) In this particular one there are two to find.

There is another guest one of the sparrows I feed (come down sparrow, sing me good morning)

And before it stirs curiosity, we're not a couple, my partner of two decades is @hedac and I almost double Kenneth's age :) but I'm a "fairy godmother" and this was a way to support his work as vocalist as we both love this song.

And a previous collaboration, this is our second

Hope you like it! until next!

This cover was so cute omg, I still remember that song from the movie, what a blast from the past, almost got me to tears I'll cry when you sing something like The Edge of Night from LotR

Fantasy movies are my favorite subgenre of all time but by far my favorites are the Trilogy of Jackson's The Lord of the Rings, I've always loved Tolkien, I have the Men of the West and the Eldar really close to my heart

I didn't found any ratties, feels bad =(

I missed the ratties too! Too busy listening to remember until it was half done. The sparrow reminded me.

Aw thanks so much for the lovely compliment, I try my best, this is an overseas collaboration as Kenneth filmed himself in Puerto Rico, it was fun. :) And glad the content is appreciated, I'll keep it coming (slowly but steadily hahah)

The movie is a fantasy classic from the 80s but it's tricky cos this is the european score and had another music for american viewers, thanks
