MORA-IA (Original MOTHER EARTH song and video) before Summer green shifts into Autumn

Summer 2021 is ending... but here in my corner of the world everything is still green...
I feel I'm myself slowly shifting as the first breath of autumn is felt and some leaves start to change their colours. But green still reigns, so this music video celebrates all the joyful and vibrant life before it starts to go dormant and it has a clear "dryad" vibe into it.

Dryads and Earth Goddesses

The term Dryad (female tree spirits) derives from the Greek Drys meaning “Oak” and refers to female tree spirits or Nymphs inhabiting and protecting these trees, if linked to a the life of a particular tree the term is Hamadryad (from “together” and “tree”)
“Drys” comes from the same Proto-Indo-European word, *doru/drew, as English “tree” so it is a term that is not restricted to "Oaks" really. They are part of the Forest and their guardians too.

Goddesses that represent Mother Earth are present in many cultures

Here in the North of Spain she is known as Amalur o Ama-Lurra, also sometimes "Mari"

As I have mentioned before Pagan Baltic Latvian Mythology and Pre-Christian beliefs includes a list of māte (Mothers) linked to Nature and Life Cycles. They are traditionally mentioned in folk songs called Dainas. Meža māte is the Mother of the Forest Lapu māte" is a Female Latvian Deity, protector goddess of the leaves. Her spirit is also responsible for the shifting of the leaves colors during the fall

Representations of a mother goddess who embodies the bounty of the earth or nature are present since ancient times and all cultures.

In Greek mythology, Gaia (/ˈɡeɪə, ˈɡaɪə/; from Ancient Greek Γαῖα, a poetical form of Γῆ Gē, "land" or "earth"), also spelled Gaea /ˈdʒiːə/, is the personification of the Earth
In Norse mythology Jörð (Old Norse: Jǫrð [ˈjɔrð]; "earth") is the personification of earth. She is partner of Odin and the mother of the thunder god Thor
Mat Zemlya (Matka Ziemia or Matushka Zeml'ja the name meaning literally moist Mother Earth) is one of the oldest slavic deities that also represent Mother Nature.

Mora-ia: An original song I wrote in my childhood in an invented language

DRYAD2 -640- by Priscilla Hernandez.jpg

Mora-ia is a song when I was a child, the first thing I composed and learnt to play with my school recorder. It is a song about saying good bye to things that were a burden to our heart or soul and breath into open air. For me this happens mostly in Nature and the new video has a very clear "Mother Earth Dryad" vibes and would fit in my "Music inspired by Nature" and the flowing of the seasons playlist "Incantations". It will be eventually compiled into an album featuring all my seasonal specials.

MORAIA -1080- by Priscilla Hernandez.jpg

moraia00000000_V2-0001.gif

The lyrics are in an invented language I made as I was a little child and so not entirely phonetic. Even if it was written decades ago it was first released in January 13, 2013 and this is a 2021 remaster of the 2013 recording with improved song and a brand new video. The song would be related to my other "green" songs like "Grow" and "The Heart of the Forest"
I guess it's not difficult to guess my favourite colour! ahem!

I made the crown myself :) in fact I'm quite proud of it, despite having burnt my fingers badly with the hot glue gun :). I used to make garlands like this and it had been a while since I had had the patience to be crafty. But the rest of the look is achieved with many gifts from many friends.

As always find the hidden ratties or Fufunchis

If you read my blog and follow my videos you'll know I always hide my fufunchis in the videos. They were my pet rats. In this video there is also the appearance of Fievel a little wild mouse I nursed back to health this Summer, he is now back and safe in the wild. So you can see him in this part of the video but still you have other 3 fufunchis to find

A celebration of Green

I'm grateful for all the green, for the lungs of our planet... And I also mourn all that we have lost during wildfires and other climate disasters... We need to take care of our planet.
We must choose our future
I don't want this to be our future

image.png

I will envision our Nature thriving and finding a way to remain lush....
And I send all the love in my heart to this precious planet that still is out only home

I cherish you 🌎

We need to rewild
We need to heal
We need to change

Thanks, it indeed has a little bit of a lullaby quality, as Mother Nature cradles us all her children. I made this song when I was a child but it comes to me often. And video is new. Leaf skirt was designed by a friend of mine who sells them, it's not a cabbage leaf LOL though cabbages are beautiful too. :)

This is such a beautiful melody. The white fufunchis was easy enough to find, but I'll need to watch the video again to see if I can spot the other two ratties. Such a good excuse to enjoy your singing a second (and maybe a third) time.

Thanks so much for always caring to try to find them... it doesn't go unnoticed. Recently something told me why I do bother to do it if noone really does and I replied, "SOME" people do LOL
There are four, my three fufunchis and a baby mouse I rescued this Summer, it was hard to let him go when he was back to health but he was a wildling and he wanted to. I loved our month together dearly though and I still visit the release place so I spot him now and then. That's the one gif I shared cos he is new in the videos.

That's lovely, the song you wrote in your childhood. Such a beautiful video, the dress and greenery were so captivating, I forgot to look for ratties. Well, I'll just have to watch the video again. :))

I really love green, it's the colour I probably have more clothing for, and I just layer things, but as stated in the post, except for the crown that I made myself (and burn my fingers with the hot glue gun badly to make it) the rest are gifts from artisan friends so I was proud and happy to showcase them.

Muchas gracias, como ya digo en otro tema, yo en invierno guardo el verde en mi corazón pero creo que ya he hecho varias canciones para cada estación, así que voy cambiando con ellas. :) El invierno también tiene su belleza.
