Our endless search for happiness

I know for many it's been hard... this decade is being challenging in many ways... and on top of the turmoil each of us face their own struggles. I'm not even ready to share mine here, but I'm sure everyone can relate. And I hope you find this post motivational and inspirational. It goes along with my own photography as well, but I wish you participate interactively and reply and share the things that make you happy. I will upvote every meaningful participation in comments.

The importance of our attitude to overcome struggle

If nothing changes we just have to change it ourselves... why not now? (from one of my songs)
Yes I know sometimes it is not easy... and it's not what we expect... but we can change a great deal of things just by shifting the way we face them. But what about HAPPINESS...? Maybe it's not a destination but a your journey. It could be also learning something new.
It's all in the small things... those that can comfort you and make your day better. Sometimes we do not appreciate their true worth, but they are precisely the ones that might mean the most in our most important quest, the search for happiness.
Everyone is different, so I do not like to make general statements, but sometimes people are victims of their own unrealistic prospects. I am not saying it's bad to have ambitions, but when you lift your anchor from the present moment to sail into the unknown to pursue unrealistic goals without a chart, some end drifting and frustrated and losing their motivation. The only measure of success that is worth is your own happiness. Not things, not money... so sure, be consistent and determined but don't forget to appreciate those things that will light your way through.

- by_ (42)-01.jpeg

ps. I do face struggle, we all do. I'm not going to say "It's nothing", "Just think positive", "your luck is what you have attracted" NO. We are warriors and we fight, and some of you face stressful and complicated situations, even illness, but even in those cases, we can try our best (we do not have to bend to the pressure of others to validate what is our BEST, only you can do that, warrior!)

Be kind to yourself. Be proud of yourself, whether you have already reached your goals or not. Be proud of your steps on the way. Be proud when you trip and fall and stand up again.
And feel HAPPY and grateful everytime you finish something that allows you to move forward with renewed enthusiasm.
One step at a time...

dandelions - by priscilla Hernandez (yidneth.com)-5.jpg

There will be things you will need to accept too, there are challenges you will have to learn how to overcome... Denial is not a solution either. But how to overcome difficulties also makes us who we are, and then even that becomes an empowering thing.

Weave magic out of the ordinary

Remember every brand new day is a fresh start... And you can try your BEST you can
Happiness is not a long term goal and a prize you should achieve at the end, it's something you need to nourish every day... you always have a "choice" and you can find it, you can weave your magic out of the ordinary. Those sparks in the darkness, those tiny delights, and if facing a tough situation you can always recall them. At the end such small things are ENORMOUS, they make a BIG difference and will account for many shards of happiness, strands that we weave together will hold us firmly when we need to brace for a fall. Because we fall... we fall many times, and we stand up again. Those little things will help you achieve great things and you might discover that happiness lies in those special daily moments. Smile to greet the warmth of sun. Smile because you are here and you are unique. Even if you are shy or hesitant, smile at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself

These are little things that make me happy. Please reply the post with yours

I want to invite everyone to participate and share some positive vibes. Share things that make you happy.

These are some of mine but not all... the beautiful thing as that there are so many...

It's in finding something you thought you had lost. Sometimes we find money in the pockets of a coat we had just left there yay! but there are other things. I recently had lost a plush toy that I have had for years. Some of you have actually met me in real life with them as I use to carry them around. One was missing for an entire year and it just randomly popper out of nowhere. It made my day!

And I also wanted to say thank you: Happiness also nourishes from gratefulness

I'm still a bit overwhelmed about all the support in my last post. Of course I am over the moon (like Hive of late) about it, but besides the votes what made happy was to see all the engagement and comments on it. I love to share my music and art

I didn't know when I posted some days ago about chestnuts that it would become at trend post, but precisely the day I took the pictures to write that post I recorded a little greeting for my fellow friends on hive. You can watch the video version on this tweet.

Love your last photo of yourself. :))

Beautiful song. Most everything that makes me happy is right here on my farm, except my surrogate grandchild. The house, the gardens, the animals both wild and domestic, my books, and the people who come to visit me here.

Thank you, sounds so cozy. One if the things I would love to have is my own place but meanwhile I make my home in my favourite things. I love reading, books are a great way to travel

One of the simplest things that makes me happy is when Brownie curls up on my pillow next to me at night and I can lay there and listen to her soft, little breathing. It never lasts very long because after a few minutes of listening to her I'm out like a light.

In the picture above of you reading, is that area in your house? Because that is amazing looking. I've always wanted a little nook in my home that was decorated somewhat like that. A place where I could go and really get lost in a book.

No, I wish, that is an older picture (I should look younger in that one) all the rest are more recent, but it was a manor in UK, cannot recall the name. I have s neat collection of books on my shelf. I love reading and fantasy fiction and folklore. So when I move to that tiny house I will have to make space for quite a few books. I particularly love illustrated versions.
On the other hand the first part of your comment made me almost teary-eyed as I can recall that feeling very well. It is curious how some things like not feeling and even the smell is encoded in our brains and can be recreated when we are half asleep. Thanks always for your insights and brightest blessings. I have had to follow you back for any reason I found that I have unfollowed many accounts without noticingg, I don't know if it's the little lag I get on my phone and my muppet fingers, but I have had to renew my following to several friends in the community.

When you write a post, you really write a post!
That guitar you're holding is a real beauty! (much like the person holding it) 😊
As to what makes me happy, in the summer, it's watching things grow in my garden, and warm weather, among other little things. Happiness is a bit harder to find in the winter, but a sunny day certainly helps. And there's always some kind of music to help my mood...
Happiness is usually found on the journey, not the destination...

Totally agree, happiness is in the journey even if we need to build it with many fragments.
Oh I know you do enjoy watching things grow, I am jealous of your garden lol. Oh Yes, my guitar is a beauty, and I should get a post of how I got it because one of my rats won it for my birthday... I am not even joking lol 🤣 I am not a accomplished guitar player and sadly it fell and need to reoair a crack in the neck bit it holds tune so I will do that in time.

And also agreed, music is a source of joy.

Girl I tried baked chestnuts because of you hahaha. They are delicious! Like a sweet potato , just like you said.
Your photos are very artistic, where do you get your dresses from? I like the first one, the green with red flowers .
What makes me happy...reading. But first: starting my day with prayer and gratitude. And when I had a rough week, there is nothing like a good soak in a bathtub with salts and essential oil. I love the forest, especially the smell it has after the rain. Beautiful post! 🤗🤗
P.S. An offgrid tiny house in the woods, I have the same dream. My own forest🤩 I am sure that we will succeed!

Awww you tried the chestnuts, that makes me so happy 🌰🌰🌰🌰

I love a good bath but sigh there is no bathtub at my current place lol and I miss it so much. Yes I do no need much but even if tiny I would love a bathtub and yes little garden, some happy hens, a dog and ratties (pets) and a little studio to make my music and art.
I think there is a word for that smell petrichor but the smell is caused by a substance geosmina that microorganisms produce and give smell to the earth. 🌳🌳❤️🌳🌳

Omg so interesting, I have found this
https://www.thoughtco.com/can-you-smell-rain-geosmin-and-petrichor-607587

You are right! Fascinating!
I would love to have a small art studio where I can be messy and creative!
I love bathtubs, I watch a couple on Youtube Jake and Nicole offgrid and they have a hippie hot tub outside! They warm the water with the help of a stove connected to the tub! Dreamy!
The dresses! Where do you get such pretty dresses?

hahah that's one of the little things that can make someone happier, to know something new everyday :)
I think i know the channel though I'm not familiar with it, I think I've seen it on recommended. I do watch some youtube videos of people also renewing old villages houses and such, but seriously I don't need much, just cozy and some space to create, to be warm and to have a reasonable access to internet to share my work. I don't mind if it's off grid as long as I can go once in a while to ship things and get provisions, but the fact I don't drive is a drawback. Still let's visualize things, and we'll solve the "ifs" later haha

And about the dresses I upcycle a lot, I do some sewing too (not much but some basic things) and I have kept every single piece of normal clothing that felt renaissance to me, fluted sleeves, I just happen to have a strange sense for fashion even daily and when I combine things they look that way. But I also have gowns from companies that are friends, like Spanish Company "El Costurero Real" on Etsy. I'm blessed to have talented friends who also endorse me some pieces so I can showcase them on instagram. Not that I'm a model or an influencer but I love making photography. I'm "yidneth" on instagram as well.

Aw thanks for the encouragement. Yes, actually that pond is a secret spot in the woods and I have never seen a soul there, so it is kind of a special place
I made a little music theme precisely about the magic of swimming in it one late Summer day

So here some music for you ☺️
And thanks for the 🍻

It's sad that many people waste their whole life searching for happiness instead of looking at their hobbies and small things which do bring joy more often than they realize.

We have some common passions and I could feel your happiness seeing the pictures since I do feel the same when I'm out there.

Nature is a very strong thing that has the power to get you through numerous moods, but it's up to us what we pick to go along with. Really nicely done post! ❤️

Thank you, Nature's wisdom is endless and humbling. It is not bad to have goals, but I often see getting frustrated victim of their own ambitions, and quite a few reaching what they wanted totally burnt out and bitter... And alone, regretting the humble little things they sacrificed.
I guess it is all a matter of balance
Society also imposes its cannon of success and measure everything with numbers... But to feel a genuine smile blooming on your face for the simplest reason, that is priceless

Your posts are so epic! I don't even know where to start!

I might have to bullet a few points and come back and comment further later!

  1. I have failed to eat chestnuts this year - but I MUST.
  2. Listened to Longing to Bloom. It's lovely - and enriching and made me happy - thank you!
  3. Yes we can reach the moon! My son is 3 and sometimes asks if he can go to the moon, and I tell him I think one day he will. (which I think is actually pretty possible)
  4. What makes me happy. Right now: morning coffee is definitely high up there - making music (of course!) and interacting with other positive people be it on hive or in person!

Reading your reply while I enjoy the little happiness of my morning coffee too ☕☕☕ and yes making music is a joy. You MUST get chestnuts lol 😂

Today I felt that I lost my modjo, so I am now looking for it, in a cup of coffee, in a book, in the fire I just made, and the delicious creamy shrimps and pasta I am about to cook.

Great video at the end! You really played well with the weather; everything well thought of, and the editing is pro as usual!

It is curious today it has been a low energy for me too, I was a bit absorbed into the past where I used to make more live performances and have my own band, and damn I miss that. Now for many reasons that is on hold but my music goes on. I was about to upload a video and wanted to make a post about it (after all it's an Autumn video and everything is almost bare now) but I decided to take a break, and sipping ginger tea as I reply. Sometimes we need to indulge in a pause.

Enjoy your meal!

You're right about pause!

You're right about playing with musicians too, I miss it, but I try not to think about it, as I am not planning on doing a concert any time soon!

Nothing better than a nice cup of ginger tea to get your head straight!

hmm I think I'm about to make a cup :). Yes, I try not to think about it too. I was blessed with a cellist and a violin player that were simply outstanding, and they would translate so beautifully my arrangements. Now it's me alone, gathering and layerings things here and there. I produce my own music, edit my own videos, compose it... and it does leave little or no time to promote besides creation. So I feel like I shrunk, and I don't like to delve in the past. This is the music I do now. I need to be proud of it and know I'm enough, and the challenge of being on my own has made me improve in many ways.
