Impressions of Spring: deep thoughts, life, flowers, birds...Humbling lessons from Nature

My sweet friends :). Taking things easy but I wanted to share some impressions of Spring. There is new music on the way but also at the same time I want to share more candid things as music takes me some time. I'm dealing with fatigue and lack of sleep and thus I needed to take breaks to rest and recharge. Seems the world has awoken from Winter's slumber and all around turns vibrant and lively but I'm still "emerging". I have always found this season invigorating and though I'm struggling myself with my levels of energy of late, it is impossible not to witness the glory of Spring teeming in the air, the songs of the birds, the buzz of the bees, the splatters of colours in the meadows... And that is indeed contagious. Still though meant to be a rejuvenating but it can be also overpowering as I long for quiet too.

Sometimes you need to "learn" to unlearn. And so I'm learning I need to be gentler to myself and so I've been trying to enjoy the warmer days, reading a book and having coffee with hens, composing and writing songs on a notebook, practicing my music instruments. Even during resting times there is something productive you can do. And everything is busy, the sweet chaotic frenzy of life bursting, trees growing leaves, Nests are built, nectar is collected, new life is being brought. I go to the orchard to take much-needed breaks from the stress and chaos of everyday life and worries, to pause and reflect.
And though I am not intending to stop creating I'm adjusting to the rhythms my body imposes focusing focusing on our own healing and well-being.

Above: enjoying the quiet moments... just like having coffee with my feather babies.
Whether it's enjoying a cup of coffee with my feathered friends (my hens aka. pitichoos) or escaping into a good book in the garden (currently reading The Haunting of Hill house by Shirley Jackson), there's something special about these quiet spring days, days are warm but not scorching, and clouds roll lazily blessing us with a shower now and then.

The forest floors are full of tiny blooms, reminding us to make the best of the light. Where there is light there is growth... And It is a reminder whenever I feel stalled that rest is part of our productivity process and is needed to recharge our batteries and emerge with renewed vigor and motivation. I'm certainly not uninspired, there is SO MUCH on the way, but also need to prioritize completing things at a pace that will allow me to complete those projects without burning out and still enjoy the process.
Sure, it is not I can afford to be idle, but I'm not and that is what I'm precisely learning, that sometimes (just like in Michael Ende's children beloved book "Momo") to reach a destination you only have to go slowly but always forward, instead of rushing and struggling not getting there. Just move forward.

This is my favorite time of the year. Creeks are gurgling, green is lush, and all is shifting quickly. Just the perfect spot between the harsh winter and the scorch of Summer. Spring is a "gentle" season where I live.

Above: Daffodils in the orchard... so ephemeral, these early blooms sprouted and withered and have been replaced now by dandelions and daisies. I even collected dandelions to make some fritters. Dandelions are edible from flower to roots.

Just sway

The fields are growing... All is tender in Spring....

grass -640- by Priscilla Hernandez.jpg

As I see the tender blades of grass and what dancing in the winds, it has inspired me to write a little song that I hope to share soon. It's a very simple one and not sure if it'll be out within the season but as the idea is the grass moving with the wind, I must film it as soon as the fields reach the sweet "spot" of growth.

Don't bend
Don't break...
Just Sway!

Those are the words

It's a song about needing to adapt, and it's very much how I feel now, needing to be more flexible and gentle. Too much tension can crack a stiff branch.
The winds of change are blowing merciless but I see signs of hope every where, they're just there for me to read. So far I'm waiting for the fields to reach the sweet spot of green to film the video...

Beltane (Celtic Festival) or May Day (Nature in full bloom) is around the corner, and every scent and colour is a reminder that Nature's full bloom is here.

Grateful for the moments of joy. Happiness is a collection of moments

You forgot photographer. Those are some great shots. How much of this is your property?

All of it. All pictures are mine and from my phone. Even the one (of myself) is on my phone tripod. Unless specified, all photos, videos and music on my feed are mine and if you are familiar or you browse back through my content you should know where I also take photos with a proper camera along with my partner, not even the case, as stated, these are impressions of MY Spring time and in this case right from my phone

I meant the land you live on. I saw you had your name watermarked into most of the photos.

Oh I see, misunderstanding as you mentioned I forgot photographer and it's me. The fields are close by I just reach them by walking. The orchard and coop is not owned by me but relatives, but I am there often as I take care of the hens, especially during winter and Spring. I wish I had such of my own. I do not own a place of my own (yet) but grateful I get to enjoy this one and tend to some rural chores. One day. One can dream. I'd adopt all these feather babies when they don't lay. For me they are pets now.

I envy people who can do this but like you said, one day it will be reality. 😁

You really had a great time this season. Enjoy this moment with your friends in your garden and above all enjoy what the nature could bring. Yes you're right, there is life if there is light. Let us be the light to others who are in darkness. Thanks for sharing your reflection.

Beautiful words, thank you. I deal myself eith shadows but I always try to find balance with light, both build contrast and must be understood, but yes I hold on to as much beauty as I can and Spring is never lacking

Great photos - I love the one of the hungry black birds. The dandelions are beautiful and healthy. Most will get rid of them like weeds.
Indeed spring is the most tender of seasons - I love it as well. Although somehow- we have not really sprung into spring totally here. Winter chills appear ever so often.

Oh dandelions are so underrated, you can make dandelion wine with the flowers, fritters, salad with the leaves, coffee with roots. And bees need them as they bloom early. Nothing not to love. Here in Spain we are alternating chill and hot already, very difficult to adapt

Amiga @yidneth I didn't know that dandelions are edible, you gave me that feeling that I don't know what it feels like with the arrival of spring.

You are welcome. And dandelions are delicious as fritters and roots make coffee like drink. Tomorrow is Beltane, officially Spring midpoint

You know your photograph reminds me of the Adas of the forest, you have that essence in your lyrics and in your physique, you must have some ancestral roots. I will follow you to read your writings.
