Since childhood, pets where things I never joked with. No matter the kind of animal and it serve as a pet, I would have a special connection to it maybe communication too. I was returning from shopping groceries at the central shopping when I saw this stray animal getting comfort from between the flower pots on the porch.

It was a badger and was so pretty with it's big brown eyes looking all scared and last. I decided to take it in as my culture. I had several pets which lived with me, most of my neighbors felt I was weird and some even asked that I sent the animals to the animal control center. Well I didn't care about what they thought, I was going to do my things my own way and take care of my animals as long as they didn't cause a nuisance in the neighborhood.
My big black cat which would always act as a scoundrel set to scare the new cat as is he's routine. But this time I warned sternly especially because the badger looked ill and I had to isolate it. I contacted my veterinary doctor who promised to come the following day to check it. He stated that the cat had caught a terrible flu and may not be able to survive. I felt really bad for it and decided that I would make it's last days memorable.

Every 2nd Saturday of every month, I would empty all cages for cleaning and allowed the animals to play freely in the lawn. My badger didn't want to associate with the rest of the animals, just laying in a corner and looking, maybe it was scared of the large crowd or weak, I couldn't really tell but I had to serve it it's meal on a different plate. I didn't know this would be it's last meal as it hardly took a bite. I decided to bathe it because it had some dirt on it's face but before I prepared the bath space and returned for it, it was lying peacefully, touching it I realized it passed away. I felt really sad but I had to bury it immediately so the flu doesn't get to the other animals. I've known it for only 3 days and it seems a part of me left with it.
