TCSP #50 Coffee Flavored Stories

Hello coffee lovers, welcome to my Blog @yelimarin, today I want to share with you a surprising anecdote that has been told to me in a coffee shop and when I ask myself this, the first visit I had to a coffee shop in my city that I had been wanting to go to for a while came to my mind.

Initially, I scheduled to visit it, since I always postponed it for other occupations and I took advantage of the fact that it was relatively close in the afternoon and I wanted to enjoy a delicious coffee, so I went to this coffee restaurant. I was interested in knowing the history beyond the sale of coffee and just that day I managed to meet the owner of the coffee shop and we talked for a long time.

So while we talked I enjoyed a delicious mocaccino, but what I liked the most was the company of the owner, my new friend Leidy Alcalá, because when she knew that I wanted to write about her coffee shop and its beginnings, she kindly told me everything I needed to know.

At first I identified myself as Journalist, since that is my profession and she kindly agreed to the interview, it was this day that I tasted for the first time the famous frappuccino made by her hands.

Leidy tells me that in the beginning they wanted to take advantage of the good seasoning she had to cook and open a small restaurant and start their venture. So they started with a concept based on video games, where you could have a snack and they called it Zona de Juegos, then they decided to expand and opened a cafeteria in a shopping center known as Zona Café, but just at that time the pandemic hit us and it was difficult to be open because it was not allowed, so seeing that they could not receive the public, they began to prepare meals, breads and other products and began to sell them with the Delivery service, this being a good strategy to continue with their sales, meet the local tariffs and not close.

After the pandemic, they opened another restaurant in the center of the city, which is where I always go in the company of my family, this is a business which leads hand in hand with her husband, a family business that gives you a rich coffee in all its varieties and in turn you can enjoy a phenomenal menu. This coffee shop is known as Zona Café Gourmet and has become my favorite place every time I go out and eat on the street.

But this story did not end here, because Mrs. Leidy managed to open another restaurant, but in a more nocturnal concept, where you can enjoy pool, food, good music and a pleasant atmosphere.

I was inspired by her story, because I believe that when a couple is united in the same purposes, the universe conspires in their favor so that these are fulfilled and this family a global crisis such as the pandemic did not force them to close, on the contrary, made them reinvent themselves and take advantage of the difficulties and blessings that many times we do not see. Today my friend Leidy is a talented entrepreneur, who has managed her family business and in her spare time she enjoys cycling.

I love stories of overcoming obstacles, where people see opportunities rather than obstacles. I like to connect with positive and enterprising people. I have told my children about how they had a dream, they projected it and worked on it until they achieved it and today it is one of my favorite places.
