What I would do with a million dollars? [Eng/Esp]

A million dollars! Every day I wake up with the hope that a million dollars will appear in my account, but then I remember that God made me beautiful, but not a millionaire, and I forget it.

But if I had that million dollars in my hands, I think I would be so excited that I would faint from joy. No, that's a lie. The first thing I would do would be to invest in a good health insurance with coverage for my whole family to help us in case of any unforeseen event.

I would do that, because in my country getting sick is a luxury and it is not possible to pay for consultations or treatment. Surely in other countries there must be some hardship in that regard as well, so I trust you will understand my need.

I would book a medical consultation at a clinic specializing in women's diseases and have a check-up, as I have not had my routine check-up for 3 years and, although I try not to get anxious about it, I would not want to go any longer without a check-up.

After that, I would set aside a portion to repair or replace the water pipe in my house, because I have a feeling that I will wake up swimming because of so many leaks. Seriously, that has become a necessity for me.

Then, I would spend money to buy three air conditioners. One for each room. I would buy a computer, because the one in my house belongs to my sister and she shares it with me. I would also buy a telephone and a phone line and if I had any left, I would repair the refrigerator and put a door on my room.

I would buy a lot of food and store it to celebrate Christmas with a nice and nice family Christmas dinner. For some time now, that dinner has become a theme and we always end up eating whatever we can, but always thankful for what we have.

And I better not go on, because I am already realizing that in the end it would have to be more than a million dollars, because the list is quite long and the more I write, the more things come to my mind. So I say goodbye...

¡Un millón de dólares! Todos los días me levanto con la esperanza de que en mi cuenta aparezcan un millón de dólares, pero luego me acuerdo de que Dios me hizo hermosa, pero no millonaria y se me pasa ¡Ja, ja, ja!

Pero si tuviera en mis manos ese millón, pues creo que me emocionaría tanto que primero me desmayaría de la alegría. No, mentira. Lo primero que haría sería invertir en un buen seguro de salud con una cobertura para toda mi familia y que nos asista en caso de tener algún imprevisto.

Haría eso, porque en mi país enfermarse es un lujo y no es posible costear ni las consultas, ni el tratamiento. Seguro en otros países también deben pasarse algunas penurias con respecto a eso, por lo que confío en que comprenderán mi necesidad.

Reservaría una consulta médica en una clínica especializada en enfermedades de la mujer y me haría un chequeo, ya que tengo 3 años que no me hago mi rutina de exámenes y, aunque intento no angustiarme con ese tema, no quisiera pasar más tiempo sin chequearme.

Después de eso, apartaría una parte para reparar o cambiar la tubería de agua de mi casa, porque presiento que de tantas goteras amaneceré nadando. En serio, eso se ha convertido en una necesidad para mí.

Luego, gastaría dinero en comprar tres aires acondicionados. Uno para cada cuarto. Compraría una computadora, porque la que está en mi casa es de mi hermana y ella la comparte conmigo. También un teléfono y una línea telefónica y si llegara a quedarme algo, pues repararía la nevera, pondría una puerta a mi cuarto.

Compraría mucha comida y la almacenaría para celebrar las navidades con una buena y bonita cena familiar navideña. Desde hace algún tiempo, esa cena se ha vuelto todo un tema y siempre terminamos cenando lo que se pueda, eso sí, siempre agradecidos con lo tenemos.

Y mejor no sigo, porque ya me estoy dando cuenta de que al final tendrían que ser más un millón de dólares, porque la lista es bastante larga y mientras más escribo, más cosas me vienen a la cabeza. Así que me despido...
