RE: Rune Chameleon

One thing that I think is going to be huge for RUNE (although I don't know when/if it's on the roadmap at this point) is a privacy coin pairing. Privacy coins are awesome, but the problem is that you always need to use a centralized exchange to trade them. If THORchain implements Monero, for example, then you could trade BTC for XMR and then trade your XMR back into BTC into a new wallet address without providing any KYC info and you would have clean BTC that no one can trace, which I think will be a game changer for privacy.

Yeah I would have mentioned this if I knew it was possible.

People tell me it's much harder to connect to privacy coins in this way,
due to the underlying smart-contracts that mask the sender/receiver/amount/etc.

The second we can get Atomic-Swaps or other forms of transfer to/from Monero the entire game changes.
Monero is definitely due for some massive gains somewhere along the lines.
Getting delisted from all the KYC exchanges has made is painfully oversold.

I'm fairly certain there exists atomic swaps on places like shapeshift and siteshift for whatever to monero. It's been a few years, but awhile back I used atomic swaps for some monero.

This is the game changer once Rune has changed the game.

Agreed implementing privacy coins with thorchain is a game-changer in many ways. I heard this very topic come up recently, can't remember here exactly, and integration with XMR is something that is already near completion!
It's happening.

If this happens I may reconsider my aversion to money, because that has primarily been due to it's being chained to banks. If I can have money without banks that I can transact in without permission, I'm interested again.

Thanks!

This is exactly what we need. If not Monero, we can have any of the other privacy coins (I have seen many great developments from the side of PIVX) easily tradable. Cryptocurrency shouldn't be about merely making money.
