Farol da Boa Nova - Boa Nova Lighthouse
This is my 10th #monomad challenge post.
To celebrate the round number, I decided to share with all of you the amazing view of a winter clear day at one of the most iconic Lighthouses of my beautiful country.
The Boa Nova Lighthouse, also known as Leça Lighthouse, is 46 meters high (about 151 ft) and 225 steps, making it the second tallest one in Portugal. It was inaugurated in December 15th, 1926.
The construction of this lighthouse permitted to ensure a bigger security in what was considered until then the most dangerous and tragic coastal area in the country, also known as the Black Coast due to the large numbers of wrecks and bad traffic lights for navigation. The white light reaches about 28 nautical miles (about 52 kilometres) . Until 1960s worked with oil lamps, but latter one was electrified.
On this day, the sea was calm and no wind was felt, otherwise the height of the waves, and the water splash would give me the opportunity of capturing in photo the moment.
Nether less, it was much more pleasant to walk by the seashore line, enjoying the beautiful sunshine in my face, and with the company of my compadre and my goddaughter.
Fell free to drop some advises in the comments, if you wish so! I appreciate all the critics to improve my rudimentary technique.
I hope that you liked my tenth entry for the #monomad challenge!
