Looks like engagement is shooting through the roof today (2021.10.05)

avatar

I am talking about the token. +386.89% in the last 24 hours.
I wonder what causing this sudden surge in the price.
Its (financial) value is still low however. I currently have 320 Engage (Engagement Token), and this is currently worth only $0.86 USD.

img_0.28491074154842766.jpg

Either way, I hope that the people will discover the real power of (the real) engagement. Yes. This time I talk about the real engagement, not the token.

Tokens like this are a nice way to encourage engagement, yet the real engagement is still very low on this platform in general.

Some people say that I "complain", when I mention this, and they feel offended, but they should do any of these.

Just take a look around. I write only the truth, and anyone can see it. And other (more and more) people mention this too.

The real human interaction/engagement is so rare on this platform that there are people, who even literally talk to themselves in the comment section of their own posts.

Another sad thing about this is the fact that I replied to that comment from @dpunk, and I even called the pizza bot in my reply to encourage him by rewarding him with some pizza token, yet he still did not replied anything to my comment. At least so far. This was 9 days ago (on 2021.09.26).

And the title of his post is "deepression, overdose, and what the fน¢k?"

By the way, I personally know what depression is. I mean by personally experiencing it on a relatively serious level. Once I was diagnosed with Dysthymia. And to make that even more serious, that was mixed with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and other disabilities. But here I am. I did not killed myself, I did not tried drugs, nor cigarettes, and I did not became alcoholic either. Nowadays I live a relatively normal life. Nowadays I even work in a four hours per day part time job, in addition to my pension-like income. My total income stil does not reach the minimum wage, so nowadays I live in financial discrimination, but at least I no longer suffer from depression. We could have a discussion about these things. What more, we can still have.

But now let us go back to the number of real human comments on this platform. There are whales, who often get dozens or sometimes hundreds of comments, but most of the users do not (or rarely) get any real human comments.

This platform is literally crying because of the lack of real human interaction/engagement.

Hopefully one day the real human interaction/engagement will also shoot through the roof on the Hive blockchain.

I believe that the reason for this is because of the hierarchal nature of the blockchain. Normally this wouldn’t matter as optimism can flourish even if there are larger accounts around... but it’s when these larger accounts can throw themselves around with an unsophisticated DV that the effects (judgement) is felt throughout the entire social network.

In an social environment where people aren’t talking people need, or perhaps they are privately, asking the questions...

But they are unvoiced for fear of DV judgment.

Raw exposure to the DV dips all content and interaction into a pool of judgment in fact... and this KILLS engagement.

Also the fact that a large account can technically “own” a small account because of how the DV is implemented.

When you understand this... it’s pretty easy to understand why the people in the room are all quite. No one wants to stick out.

In this environment why would anyone PowerUP? To do so is to paint a bullseye on ones capital and ones account.

So the people who are talking are either stroking egos or group thinking... Or what I call Hive Minding.

I sincerely hope that Hive can mature and grow past this phase by continuing to evolve and innovate especially where the DV is concerned.

With social it’s almost an unwritten rule...

He or she who has the most fun wins.

Engagement is a measure of how much fun people are having on a social platform... so we have all got to start asking ourselves the hard questions...

If everyone is talking (via posting content) but no one is listening (via commenting on that content) where does that lead to and how does that separate us and make us better from what is happening on the other social2.0’s?

As a certified personal trainer I do health checkUPs all the time... and THIS is NOT looking good.

It’s time for people to collectively #SpeakUP and make it known what sort of Hive they want. Enough with the group think for profit... it’s time to mature this platform past that with an emphasis on social capital first.

It is us... the users... THAT is where value is derived... and for those who would don’t think that the a RAW DV is having a negative effect on this social network... consider well... if no one is engaging within the comments section of your posts... they have limited that communication to UV and DV. Both communicate something... and the sooner we deep thinking (instead of Hive think) about the deeper ramifications of how those communicate...

We will all be at a loss on this blockchain.

As a certified personal trainer I do health checkUPs all the time... and THIS is NOT looking good.

If I try to take a look at this from the outside, then this (almost the whole Hive blogging platform) looks abandoned. A ghost town. And this is everything, but certainly not attractive. Especially for the potential new users. This is definitely not good.

If everyone is talking (via posting content) but no one is listening (via commenting on that content) where does that lead to and how does that separate us and make us better from what is happening on the other social2.0’s?

Where does that lead to? To nowhere. Or rather to nothingness. At first to a lot of disappointed users, then to an empty platform. Over (more or less) time.

What is the point of putting a lot of work, effort and time into writing a good, meaningful post, if there is no one there to actually read or even care and react anything meaningful about it?

When there is a bunch of "informative post", "very good information", and other similar spam-like comments under a post (for example under this post), then it is clear that people saw the post, but they do not really care about it.

And I do not even want to mention the fact that all of the spam-like comments under the above mentioned post is upvoted by the author of that post. I really cannot find the proper words right now. I feel the need to say out loud that Hive is one of the worst social networks ever made. But seriously. Who would like/upvote a bunch of spam comments under his/her own posts? Especially with monetary value, like $0.27. I am sorry for writing this, but I feel that some of the Hive users are really digging the grave of this platform.

People usually discourage (or at least ignore) the spammers, not encourage them.

This is the complete opposite of a good social network, so it will not make us better from what is happening on the other social 2.0 platforms, but it will definitely separate us.

You mentioned the "He or she who has the most fun wins" rule. This is true, and I see this on YouTube, for example, but not (or rarely) on the Hive blockchain.

Out of the few real human comments on the Hive blockchain, a lot of them feels unnatural and/or forced. This is the opposite of fun.

We will all be at a loss on this blockchain.

Seeing the above mentioned things, we are already at a loss on this blockchain.

But of course I still have hope in this platform, and this is why I am here. I give you some !PIZZA.

Youre a pretty smart dude X, a capable beastman, capable of beastin. So keep on beastin. Could be many things, lot of people post, i always have a feed full of things to look at but maybe part of the lack of engagement, is that most people just vote instead of comment. I used to hardly comment but past year, ive tried to engage a lot more.

I have low number of posts, so i may come off a bit trolly, but weve talked quite a few times, so you know ive tried to give your posts some attention.

As for depression stuff, man, we all go through the emotions, im kinda feeling like an ass myself right now.

Keep rockin, all i can say. I have quite a bit of hard earned money tied up on this platform so im trying to be hopeful that we keep chuggin along over next few years.

I am not necessarily talking about only my posts, but the posts of most of the people on this platform. Many of my posts doing fine in the recent past in terms of engagement compared to the average. I am very grateful and very happy for all the engagement I receive under my posts by you and by others. I am really not complaining here. Many people have a lot of posts without any real human comments. So I talk about posts from the Hive bloggers in general. I even mentioned a post from someone else in this post. And I have a discussion with @wil.metcalfe in the comment section, where I mentioned another post, also from someone else, as an example.

Thank you again. I give you some !PIZZA.
Probably this is the last (the 10th) pizza I give today.

I find it easier to reply to a post than to a comment. So I just let the comment reply chain end if I don't have much more to add. !PIZZA

I often do the opposite (I reply to comments) under other people's posts, and it is often easier for me than replying to the post.

I have seen that pump many times and after few hours the pump is a dump. I have no idea why this really happens I have staked a few engage tokens but the bit is down these days I hope this will work soon,

!ENGAGE 10

So this is literally a simple pump and dump thing. This is especially sad with a token like this, but I still have the intention to collect (or buy) 1001 Engagement token to be able to reward others with it by making reward calls.

I give you some !PIZZA and !LUV.

You know... I think I sensed that you were on the spectrum! My son is also on the spectrum so I think I saw some similarities in the way that you speak like him :)

some people think that you're abrasive hahaha but I sensed that it wasn't meant to be - it was just unfiltered. and that's why I always tried to comment to you openly and without feeling offended.

Kudos to you for getting your emotional issues handled - It's very difficult to handle depression but you did it! and... with you being under minimum wage - I'm sure there are a lot more that you are struggling with.

but your life is a testament to the fact that there are people who use excuses to be the victim - and there are people who use those same things to spur them onto more. really proud of you for conquering that.

As far as Hive... well - there are many that are feeling the way you do. I just had (and continue to have) many discussions about this with @wil.metcalfe. The only thing that we can continue to do is keep engaging with people.

and if I can encourage you and try to maybe give you a little bit of advice (it's what I've had to tell my son too) Sometimes, our minds are such that we see black and white, and it's very hard for us to NOT see that black and white. and so we speak that way, and in trying to engage with people, we actually make them feel attacked. I know that you are explosive! hahahaha @xplosive :) and I know that you want to feel that you should be able to speak your truth as much as you like. And I think you should! But... if you are concerned about engaging more and not just you - but trying to find others to engage with - I would just gently suggest that you soften some of your comments to be a bit less aggressive. I know that you don't think it is - but I know that you have seen many people SAY that you are. LOL so... maybe try to pull back on how forceful you are in you opinions at times and find a common ground somewhere in the conversation. I think it might help you! :) but - it's just my humble suggestion! You will do as you see best :)

My son is also on the spectrum so I think I saw some similarities in the way that you speak like him :)

The more interesting is the fact that I am not a native English speaker. I am Hungarian, so English is a second language for me. And another interesting thing is that I do not even notice anything unusual, nor unique in my communication. The whole thing is just feels natural, proper and average. To be honest, recently I honestly started to think that my voice communication has been improved enough to be undistinguishable in everyday speech. But if the autism spectrum is noticable in my English writing, then probably it is also noticeable in my speech in my mother tongue. People just do not mention it.

some people think that you're abrasive hahaha but I sensed that it wasn't meant to be - it was just unfiltered. and that's why I always tried to comment to you openly and without feeling offended.

Respect for that. Autism is often not easy both for someone, who lives with it, and also for the other people in the environment of that person.

Kudos to you for getting your emotional issues handled - It's very difficult to handle depression but you did it!

And I do it every day.

really proud of you for conquering that.

Thank you. I constantly try my best to handle my emotions, and remain a relatively normal person. And I have to. This is an everyday thing for me.

and... with you being under minimum wage - I'm sure there are a lot more that you are struggling with.

Yes, this is also true. I already mentioned a few of it in various posts/comments in the past. Like being bullied in the school, becoming a private student, having an aggressive (step?)father, etc.

I would just gently suggest that you soften some of your comments to be a bit less aggressive.

I really do not find them aggressive, but I will try my best to be more gentle with my comments. But I would not be surprised if my comments would be aggressive. After all mostly this is what I have received in my childhood from my environment. It made me somewhat aggressive. Although I try to remain a relatively normal person, independently from what happened in the past.

maybe try to pull back on how forceful you are in you opinions at times and find a common ground somewhere in the conversation. I think it might help you! :) but - it's just my humble suggestion! You will do as you see best :)

"With overwhelming force. Strenght above all". - Darius from League of Legends.

No, I am just/only joking/kidding, of course. I really try to change my comment writing style into something less forceful.

This will be a part of trying to improve and trying to be (remain) normal.

I give you some !PIZZA and !LUV.
Have a nice day. All the best.

I interact with almost every person who comments on my post and I go to many posts. If there is no interaction, what is the point?

You are on the spectrum and yet, you do a fabulous job of keeping your life running well, taking care of yourself and holding down a job.

I think you have come a long way. !Pizza

Your (and other people's) positivity, kindness and support helps a lot in this. Lately I realized the fact that I successfully built friendships on this blockchain, and this gives me a lot of strength. Thank you. And thank you for the pizza. I also give you some !PIZZA and some !LUV. I wish you all the best.

Thanks for the pizza and Luv!

Hi.

I'm confused. If there's some kinda problem that I'm not aware of, what is it?

The problem? We both (and other people too) experience it. We are all aware of that. The lack of real human comments on this platform. In addition to the Engagement token, this is what I am talking about in this post. Of course there is no personal problem. At least I do not have any problems with anybody. I talk about this in general.

Fair enough. It sounds like a typical social media practice to me, one has to be “catchy” enough to attract customers, fans, or whatever, depends on each creator's cravings. Shock-Value if you will, for instance, this post. Glad to be part of the “material” used in your post though, I like to be an inspiration.

I replied to that comment from @dpunk, and I even called the pizza bot in my reply to encourage him by rewarding him with some pizza token, yet he still did not replied anything to my comment.

Just for the record, I do not spend my life online, and I think I'm not the only one. Hence, keep in mind that there are people out there that spend most of their time doing stuff other than social media. Let alone the people who live through tough times and have major issues to worry about other than replying to a comment on the internet.

Rationalize what people do sometimes. One love. Have a nice day. Take it easy and loosen it up a bit.

Considering/taking into account what Hive provides to its users, it should not be a typical social media. It is already so much more than that by giving rewards to the users, unlike Facebook, which is only taking it.
