Evening Splinterlands Addicts

Today, I am gonna talk about a common monster, who seems innocuous at first glance but can have significant impact on battle, LONE BOATMAN. LONE BOATMAN is a life splinter ranged monster. It has nice ranged attack right from level-1 but the real fun begins at level-5 when it gets Repair ability. Although weak but it also possesses shield.

I have already upgraded my LONE BOATMAN to level-5 to have Repair ability. I use it time to time to as a Shield Repairer especially. Life splinter have only two monsters with Repair ability, ARMORSMITH and LONE BOATMAN, so when ARMORSMITH becomes unavailable due to Keep Your Distance rule set ```LONE BOATMAN`` can serves as a backup Shield Repair guy.

Currently there are 19,173 normal foil LONE BOATMAN in circulation, with lowest selling price of 0.015$/BCX. There are also 1,265 Gold Foils in circulation, trading at 1.40$/BCX.

Here is the all time price trends of Normal and Gold Foil LONE BOATMAN, courtesy SPLINTX. Notice price pump in GF LONE BOATMAN as Dec reached peg. But normal foil LONE BOATMAN is still pretty cheap to max.

Placement

LONE BOATMAN like all ranged monster is best suited in the middle back ranks from where it can do its bidding. Because of low health it is important to prevent LONE BOATMAN from magic blast damage.

Favored Battle Rules and Mana Cap

LONE BOATMAN main perk is its Repair ability. So it is best suited for all battle rules that signifies shield, e.g. Weak Magic, Lost Magic and Armored Up.

Complementing LONE BOATMAN

LONE BOATMAN can be decently complemented in variety of ways using various summoners and monsters with abilities.

Abilities From Summoners

THE PEAKRIDER, DRAKE OF ARNAK and TYRUS PALADIUM can nicely complement LONE BOATMAN with extra shield. ARCHMAGE ARIUS, SELENIA SKY, NEB SENI, LORNA SHINE and MOTHER KHALA can also decently help LONE BOATMAN.

Abilities From Monsters

Giving LONE BOATMAN extra shield from Protect ability monsters like DEFENDER OF TRUTH, TRUTHSPEAKER, SILVERSHEILD SHERRIF, or TOWER GRIFFIN etc. can add an extra layer of defense.

Triage ability can help keep LONE BOATMAN alive.

Speed related abilities like Slow, Swiftness and Blind make LONE BOATMAN even more harder to hit.

Defense

Since LONE BOATMAN is inherently low on health so it can be targeted by using Opportunity and Snipe attacks. Lowering the shield using Rust ability can also be beneficial.

Demonstration

In this battle with Equilizer and Keep Your Distance battle rules, I used LONE BOATMAN for Repairing the shield as ARMORSMITH was not allowed. LONE BOATMAN did its job of Repairing the shields pretty well.
