Solana Based Trippy Bunny NFT Donated All Its Mint Proceeds to Suicide Prevention Foundation

Solana based NFT project Trippy Bunny NFT yesterday announced donating all of its NFT mint sale proceeds to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
The announcement came on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day observed on 10th September every year, in order to provide global awareness, commitment and action to avoid subsides. The day was first announced back in year 2003 and is now also supported by World Federation for Mental Health and World Health Organization.
Trippy Bunny NFT mint proceeds were collected as Gemini dollars (GUSD) amounting to $220,886, all of which was donated to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Trippy Bunny NFT posted the transaction hash(etherscan).
On 10th September Trippy Bunny minted 1,111 NFTs, with each one costing 1.11 SOL. With SOL pricing at 179.11$ at the time of donation, the donation was worth $220,886. The donation was facilitate by a cryptocurrency donation platform, The Giving Block.
This is not the first time that cryptocurrency industry has demonstrated its generosity towards a charitable organization. Back in May two crypto projects Elongate and Munch raised $3 million for various charitable causes. Also back in May, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin donated $1 Billion worth crypto currency to help covid struck India. Crypto based charitable donations indeed has their own perks like transparency, traceability and fraud prevention.
