This Weekend - Just as Busy as the Last

Checking in quickly. I've had another busy weekend and have another busy week coming up. I hope by the end of the week I actually have something to show for it!

First, some updates. This happened last weekend. It was not something I was planning or expecting and am honestly still grappling with, but it happened.

Yes. New poochy. Blu. I was not ready for a new dog so soon after losing my last one. I'm still reeling from that. But, Blu is good with cats and trained. I still was not going to adopt her, but then the Humane Society dropped adoption fees to $30.

My middle son is enthralled. I have not seen him smile so routinely in years. He even goes out to play with her. So, despite my misgivings, I'm hopeful that she'll bring some joy back into the house. That will make it worthwhile.

My first half of October was consumed with putting on a one act play. This one.

Yesterday was a Halloween party. I haven't done one of those in awhile and it was fun. Putting the food together is the best part.

Today I'm filming a horror short movie. It's a 12 page script where I'm playing the part of a middle aged flesh eating demon. I'm not an actor. Definitely not a good actor. I hope I don't disappoint.

The next two weeks, up through the end of the month, will be filled with being strage crew in another play, a production of Misery. Wednesday night I have an event where I'll be shilling my coffee, and Saturday night I'm hosting a "Coffee Tasting and Movie" event. I'll be offering coffee tasting of my coffees and showing old, classic 8mm horror movies on a vintage projector. I hope that people show up, but right at the moment I'm expecting no one at all. Alas.

I'll have some time off in November, at which point I'll work on catching up with everyone here. I miss y'all.

Wow Blu has eyes to tell where the name originates what a handsome lucky lad to be in a loving home.

Good luck with the play, excellent to hear your son and the puppy have adopted each other so well.

Thank you! Blu's a good dog so far. She still needs to learn to behave on a leash (we're getting there) but she's settling in nicely in the house. She's crate trained and spends the night in it, but I'm comfortable enough with her roaming freely during the day.

Blu is a charmer. He was waiting for you. The universe knows where pets belong. Our little Seven is about the sweetest cat you could imagine.

I wish I could try your coffee and watch a free movie. What a great idea.

This is true. If I didn't have at least some faith in that statement I would not have brought her home.

And thank you! The movie night (last night) was at least partially successful. I did not get as much of a crowd as I was hoping for, but I got some good contacts, received an engagement for another event (we're looking at mid November) and a lot of requests for a similar night for Christmas.
