Spine-Tingling Dawn Draft

Happy New Year! And welcome to the first of what, I hope, is 52 new coffee recipes this year. Perhaps fittingly, the first recipe of the year is a rather simple one and includes a roast with twice the caffeine as normal. Yes. Twice the caffeine. This will get your bones moving in the new year!

Morning Bone Rattler - A Coffee Concoction

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coarse or drip ground Skeleton Brew's "Bone Rattler" roast coffee (Morning Bone Rattler)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Whipped cream, for topping
  • A pinch of nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: The Awakening Blend

Begin by igniting the essence of the "Morning Bone Rattler." Place the finely ground coffee in a French press. Pour the boiling water over the grounds, ensuring they are completely saturated. Stir gently, then let it steep for 4 minutes to unlock the bold, robust flavors.

Step 2: The Elixir Extraction

After the steeping time, slowly press down the plunger of the French press. Pour the freshly brewed coffee into a large mug, filling it about three-quarters full.

Step 3: The Creamy Whirl

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it's warm but not boiling. Stir in the maple syrup and cinnamon, creating a sweet and spicy cream mixture.

Step 4: The Rattler's Pour

Gently pour the spiced cream mixture into the mug with the brewed coffee, creating a swirling dance of colors and flavors.

Step 5: The Frothy Crown

Top the drink with a generous dollop of whipped cream, adding a luxurious texture and richness.

Step 6: The Final Touch

Sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg on top of the whipped cream for an aromatic finish.

Step 7: The Bone Rattler's Delight

Savor the "Morning Bone Rattler," a symphony of bold coffee flavors harmoniously intertwined with sweet, spiced cream. Let each sip enliven your senses and start your day with a rattling good vibe.

Sounds ideal to kick-start on a cold morning, looks whopping good!

Saved recipe for Winter here, will need to use local coffee beans, don't think we see what you have off the shelf....

Sadly, my beans are available only in the US and Canada, and really only online. But! The recipe still works! And whipped cream is always a plus.

Sounds good and strong coffee, so beans will hopefully be locally sourced to make similar.

Happy New Year! I really drink my coffee straight up black, too, but the recipes are a marketing project, I'll admit. But they are fun to make!

Nutmeg and cinnamon sound awesome, and the whipped cream looks appealing. I'd try this sometimes:))

I hope you do! If you do, please let me know how it turns out. Nutmeg and cinnamon are two of my goto herbs for about anything!

Funny enough, my mother-in-law recently gave me some nutmeg. When I lived in the Philippines, I had difficulty finding it. I thought it was strange because it's so popular everywhere in the tropics. I also found that the ground nutmeg in supermarkets was double the price of regular spices.
I'll be sure to fill you in when I get around to trying it:)

Brother, I think your recipe is excellent, in fact I want to replicate it, but some of the materials are not in my pantry.
It will be another time, but it is very good.

One can never go wrong with maple syrup. I ended up picking up a bunch of small bottles just to mess with!
