National Mocha Day

Today is a special day here in the US, at least for those of us who enjoy following faux-holidays, for today is not just one special-national-day, but two! Today is both National Coffee Day and National Mocha Day.

To celebrate - and celebrate we must - here is a Skeleton Brew inspired coffee and mocha recipe for the day.

"Monochrome Mocha"

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Skeleton Brew's "Eternal Shadows" roast coffee, brewed
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla syrup
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Optional: cocoa powder or chocolate shavings for garnish

Directions:

Step 1: The Contrast Brew

Brew a cup of Skeleton Brew's "Eternal Shadows" roast coffee, savoring its bold and captivating flavors. Let the dark hues and rich aroma transport you to the nostalgic world of black and white film photography.

Step 2: The Creamy Harmony

In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until steaming. Remove from heat and whisk in the dark chocolate syrup and vanilla syrup, creating a creamy harmony that complements the robust coffee.

Step 3: The Monochrome Blend

Pour the brewed "Dark Contrast" coffee into a mug. Gently pour the chocolate-infused milk over the coffee, allowing the contrasting colors to blend and create a visually stunning monochrome masterpiece.

Step 4: The Whipped Cream Canvas

Top your Monochrome Mocha with a generous dollop of whipped cream, transforming the drink into a canvas for your imagination. For an artistic touch, sprinkle cocoa powder or chocolate shavings on top, adding depth and texture to the monochromatic palette.

Step 5: The Nostalgic Sip

Take a moment to appreciate the nostalgic allure of black and white film photography as you sip your Monochrome Mocha. Let the harmonious blend of coffee and chocolate transport you to a bygone era of timeless beauty and artistic expression.

This is a very detailed recipe for making this coffee treat. Although I wouldn’t like it for sure, I’m actually curious to taste it. I don’t like sweetened coffee or any coffee with something added. 😁

Your photo adds a bit of additional spookiness.

I typically prefer black coffee as well, without cream or sugar at all. But these are fun to put together, and I enjoy seeing people's reactions when they taste them and enjoy them.

Plus it gives me a reason to be spooky. 😁
