A Sublime Garden Sunday
I had the opportunity today to spend some time out for photos without anyone hurrying me up. After ensuring everyone was fed and performing repairs on the toilet (no more leak - huzzah!) I felt it was time to reward myself with a photo expedition.
This was the first really good opportunity I had to get out to enjoy autumn and hopefully take some pictures of it. I had tried Longwood Garden last week and, though the garden itself was fun, it wasn't really in the autumn state of mind. Thinking back I recalled wanting to go back to a place called Marian Coffin Garden in Wilmington, and was thinking that it might just make a great autumn landscape.
I've presented Marian Coffin garden before, and noted back then as well that the garden is so named because that was Marian's actual name; there's nothing macabre about the garden itself, which is almost a little dissapointing.
Frankly, I think this would be a great place for something macabre and would be an awesome place to hold a Halloween party. The garden is private property, however, and the owners would likely not appreciate such a thing. They're good enough to keep it open for the public as is.
I did bring two film cameras with me - one an old Brownie from the early 1900's and the other a newer toy camera from the 1980's. That film will need to be developed first, but I'm hoping it turns out well.
That garden does have these really fantastic statues in them. I can see them being haunted. Really, this is an idea location for a Halloween party. Maybe I ought to approach the owners for permission next year.
This particular statue was mooning everyone.
So, it's a nice place. I was hoping for some more bright red's, but it was still really nice, and I'm glad I got to go out. Hopefully I can get back there if we get some snow!

I like to roam around these types of places. It took me back in time. The place looks wonderful.
Thank you! It really is a nice place. The mansion beside it is decrepid, rundown, and no longer open to the public. I'd love to get in there sometime to explore.
Great place and the fall makes the white of the statues pop. I have great pictures from a park nearby so you gave me an idea. Have a great day
It's definitely a neat place! I much prefer it in the offseason instead of the summer. I'm looking forward to going back with snow!
We have a trip to the snow planned . We will be skiing in Austria but with covid nothing is sure
