Depends on how you define freedom these days. But so far there are only minor travel restrictions that can be overcome with a PCR test or vaccine papers. Social events and holidays have been canceled. I'm not gonna get vaccinated, I don't trust it for various reasons and they say about 70% of the foreign population feel the same way I do here on the island. So almost all the Thais and Burmese on the island have taken the shot. It's now about 5 months later and we are having our second outbreak of the vaccinated. Right now there are over 300 people infected and being held in a field hospital and a local hospital over flowing with patients. Of the 300 + cases almost all of them are vaccinated Thai and Burmese. Keep in mind the population of the island is only about 10,000. Meanwhile they are pushing the vax harder and harder here and talking about vax passports. Some people have left to Mexico where they don't care about the virus or the vaccine. But yeah that is the latest. Things are getting sketchy here on that regard. Other than that you can still go to restaurants and beaches and what have you. So day to day life is still good. I'm practicing my writing skills my friend I'm gonna start doing a new opinion writing series called "Travel Pro's Two Cents" Keep a look out for it would love to see what you think.

I should rephrase that freedom will never be the same again but I am happy with what I have at the moment and sure as you say it's only going to get worst, myself like you do not want to be vaccinated, I feel the same way about that, it will restrict us from many things but that won't worry me the major issue of this is not been able to travel without all the bullshit red tape, right now I will just wait that out to see what it will come to am in no hurry to rush in.

"Travel Pro's Two Cents" will keep an eye out for it but let me tell you it's going to keep you busy you will be glued to your chair answering questions missing out on your sunrises and sunsets but if you like that have fun with it 😊

Wow, I'm impressed. Good for you. I had the feeling we are both on the same page with that. But I know the pressure in Australia is off the charts with the pressure to get the population on a never ending set of injections.

"Travel Pro's Two cents".....I know what you mean, missing my sunrises and sunset. But that's actually part of it totally. I haven't seen a sunrise or sunset in weeks, and last week it rained for 4 days straight! Monsoon season is hitting hard this year, so.....got a lot of time to spend indoors on my computer probably through the rest of the year. But well see.

No need for any lengthy reply. Appreciate your feedback and friendship here in the Hive world. Have a great day buddy and I'll be in touch.

The pressures are on in the center of Sydney you can't even go into a supermarket without showing your vax pass I am so glad I moved out of Sydney that would have lead me into a lot of trouble maybe knocking out a few people 😂 as you know I am against it but in the long run if I want to come and see some sunsets with you on your private island I may have no choice but for now I will wait to see how all this is going to pan out.

Well that would make sense if the monsoon period is going to hang around longer you may as well make use of your time I will enjoy the sunrises and sunsets here in Byron Bay for you...Cheers bro 👍

Enjoy you day buddy 👍

What I hear coming out of your country and places like Austria now is startling. Glad you are not in the mix of it all. That is good to hear. Enjoy those sunsets and sunrises for me. Yesterday almost half the island was flooded. Totally wild. Gonna do a series on that after taking a ton of crazy flood photos as we "tried" to go around the island. At one point I almost lost the bike as the water was up over where my feet go while driving through the flooded roads. Was totally insane.

Yep I am happy just to stay in my turf enjoying my sunsets, sunrises and the beach traveling is still to many issues even crossing my boarder it's just really bullshit. Those monsoon rains can be pretty damaging will be looking forward to your flood photos glad you didn't lose your pride bike.
