Different news could give people different grades of joy buth the news I saw today gave me joy and also got me laughing at some point. Our president, Mohammedu Buhari spoke on his favourite presidential candidate.

2023: Buhari speaks on his ‘favourite’ presidential candidate. When asked about his favourite presidential candidate, the president replied, “I won’t tell you my favourite for 2023, he may be eliminated if I mention. I better keep it a secret.”

The fact that he knew that his favourite candidate could be eliminated if he discloses the name was a funny but true fact. Nigerians got seriously tired and fed up with their president. So anyone or anything that had to do with him, his likes, etc are not very much welcome. So it's better he keeps his favourite presidential candidate a secret for peace to reign.

When asked about what comes to his mind when Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is mentioned, Buhari replied, “failure”.

Now I thought this statement was rather harsh. You being in the opposition party doesn't give you any right to speak I'll of the other political parties or party. Two political parties really stand out and the are; People's Democratic Party(PDP) and All Progressives Congress
The current president is a member of the All Progressives Congress.
Politics is not supposed to be so violent. It's supposed to be a fair play among opposite political parties and the best would win, but apparently, it's the total opposite.

He said this after noting that he has no special interest in the 2023 election.

I'm not a hater, and I'm not trying to pick sides either but this particular statement got me really excited. The feeling you get when you know that things are literally about to change, but one can't tell if it would be a positive or a negative change.

It has been a pleasure having him as our president, and I like the fact that he's signing out with no battle or complications. It's totally an honour.

When asked about his perception of Nigerian youths, Buhari said, “I wish when they go to school; when they work hard; when they earn their degree, they don’t do it thinking that government must give them jobs

This brought about a rivalry between the Nigerian youths and their president. He called them 'lazy'. One can't really understand his point of view because honestly, many Nigerian youths work tirelessly just to make a living.

Acknowledging the fact that youths are supposed to be their own employers, not all fingers are the same. Everyone can't be a boss at the same time. As such, fair provision of employment opportunities should be given to some youths but the opposite is the case.

If you are somehow related to the person issuing out jobs then you're automatically employed even without merit. That's not how it's supposed to be.

I could keep ranting all day about the state of my beloved country, but ranting won't bring out solutions. Since everyone is supposed to be their own boss, so be it. Do have a great day.

With love, wongi 😊.
