Medical 'Assualt'
And yet another. Crazy things are really happening but I won't like to classify this under the crazy things that are happening.
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested the relative of a patient at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, for allegedly attacking medical workers at the hospital.
Now the story behind the arrest is a rather funny one. I could relate with the victim. He was in a tight corner, witha life of death situation. One could act in dispicable ways in such situations but attacking medical worker? Nope that's risking the injured person's life.

Apparently, the victim drove into the Lagos state university teaching hospital (LASUTH) with and injured person. The patient had a gunshot wound which was rather intense.
The driver was tensed and when the medical workers asked him to leave the patient in the car for proper first aid to be carried out on him before transferring him to a ward, he panicked and tried carrying the patient on his own. The patient fell to the ground and that's when the driver(victim) got infuriated and started attacking the medical workers.
My question is, what did he expect when started attacking the people that wanted to help him? His attack caused one of the nurses to trip and break her neck leaving her to wear a neck collar and another hit her head and got a deep cut.
This worsened the situation because the police arrived and arrested the victim. The victim got another burden for himself, he got detained.
One could say that the victim reacted that way because he felt that the patient wasn't given the attention and medical care he deserves, that could be a factor but hit reaction to it was just too much.
We will ensure that the full wrath of the law is applied. Our director of legal services is on the case and we were able to provide the CCTV evidence of the whole scene to the police for prosecution.”
And this also happened. Leaving the man in a very bad situation. We don't know if the patient was treated at the end of the whole allerged 'assault'. This was totally uncalled for but there we go. A hospital suing an individual, we don't need a suit sayer to tell us how the case would go.
I hope Justice would be served.
