At My Best And Me Time | LOH #131

Believe it or not, my ME time is actually pretty simple. Unlike girly girls who go to salons, spas and pamper themselves, mine is actually far from it. It's not that I don't like to be pampered, but it's a matter of what I like to do, and how I can afford it.

After a very long day at work and doing chores at home, I am usually stressed so I just want something that can take my stress right away.

My ME Time - 2 things I love the most. And you could probably guess what they are.

Ah yes, food and anime and I'm already sold! Two things that makes me happy 😊

Watching anime in covers

I've been spending my ME Time almost everyday because my boyfriend works at night, so after my work, I am alone in the house and I can do whatever I want. It's nice to be on my own. My rules, my time. No one's there to disturb me, and no one's going to ask me to feed him or do stuff for him. 😂

Chips with anime is the best way to spend my own time

They say a good food makes your tummy happy but mine's not really a good food. I spend my Me Time watching anime TV shows or movies while munching on my chips. It's cheaper than going to cinemas by myself, and I don't have to wash the dishes after. Just any chips will do.

I know it's bad for my health that's why I've recently started to think and look for healthy alternatives. Still, I look for chips every now and then. 😂

Welp, I want to get healthy but I can't stop munching my favorite chips. 😂

Show your pictures where you think you have been at your best

This kinda let me think a lot. It's not that I haven't been the best in anything, but in everything I do, I always give my best.

Traveling with friends

The first one is probably when I am traveling to an unknown place. Believe it or not, I'm the planner in our group - I make the itinerary, and I decide where to go and what to eat, of course I also take note of my friends' requests and recommendations. You could probably think I'm the leader of the group although I'm not. I just want things to be smooth when traveling. I don't easily get lost so I guide my friends whenever we're in a new place. I think I'm best when I lead my friends whenever we're traveling. 😊

Volunteering at English camp

Before the pandemic, sometimes I spend my weekends volunteering in an English Camp with kids. The kids are Japanese elementary students. We spend 2 days together, along with the other volunteers. The volunteers are mixed - Japanese and foreigners. Our job as a volunteer is not so hard but it will definitely take most of your energy so most of the time, on Mondays, I can still feel the exhaustion. 😂

These kids are so energetic, and they really want to run around and play with you so there's no reason to stay in one place - you also need to run around and play with them. I miss those times though.. During the pandemic, I haven't heard from the English camp except one time, they did it but with face masks. I also moved house so I haven't checked the camp schedule in this region. I hope to be back at volunteering soon! I love being surrounded by kids and this volunteering is really something I love. By now you probably know I love kids, and I love playing with them - even though there's a language barrier most of the time. 😁

This last one is probably something I want to hide but okay, let's just reveal it here. 😁

I believe I was at my best when I participated in a Japanese speech contest a decade ago. At that time, I just finished learning Japanese. I got help and advice from my sensei (teacher in English), and support from my officemates and friends. I was so nervous speaking to the crowd, all the more that it's a contest where I'd be judged. I gave my all, so I wouldn't have regrets. It's my first public contest after all.

Joining the Japanese speech contest

And my efforts really paid off. I wasn't expecting to win but I got 3rd place. It's really a happy memory I couldn't forget. After the event, I got sick though. I guess I pushed myself too far. 😂 And I didn't inform my parents I participated in the Japanese speech contest. 😆

Even though I listed 3 instances where I was at my best, I think we should still be at our best every single day. We never know what the future holds so let's make the best out of each day. And oh yeah, guys also deserve their me time. It's important to spend time on our own, just as we've been spending it with other people.

Thanks for reading!
See you around! じゃあ、またね!

So, what are your favorite Anime programs? There are so man.
I'm a little notorious in scarfing down Nacho chips.

I have a lot of favorites but my top 2 would be Detective Conan (Case Closed) and One Piece. Both I’ve been watching weekly. I also like Kimetsu No Yaiba and the recent anime tv shows for this season like Mashle, Hell’s Paradise, Oshi No Ko and a lot more. I tend to watch to a lot, and really try to insert it in my schedule.

Nacho chips are the best! Some like it with dips but I prefer them without it. 😅

You live an incredible life witz. I can see you enjoying life to its fullest by also giving your best. Such an inspiration to everyone.

I don’t know why when we’re getting older, we tend to become introverted and really want to be alone at times. 😅 I guess we just want to take a break from everything that’s going on in our lives from time to time.

Wow thank you so much for the kindest words. It’s my motto in life to enjoy life to the fullest. ☺️

Wow madam @wittyzell it was a big achievement to win the third place. Your parents are sure proud of you. Learning new words is hard, my daughter is also teaching me the basics like sayonara (goodbye) Is that so? But Im forgetting it all maybe it's not my interest but I also loved to watch anime. Usagi is from my favourite anime since birth LoL Sailor Moon or Usagi Tsukino I prefer to read the subtitle rather the watch the English version.

Believe it or not, I haven't watched an episode of SailorMoon but I know they exist. I went to their 4D show in USJ, no english subtitles though and at that time, I couldn't understand everything because my Japanese was still poor. I mean, it's still poor now, but kinda average.
It's not easy learning a new language. Actually I was supposed to study this time but I couldn't stomach Japanese words for now 😅 It's really hard. I also don't know what happened before and I won that 3rd place 😂

Thank you Jude! Better late than never charot

Ayown lang, it's hard to keep up with the endless energy of these kids. It was fun to be with them though but you need to have loads of energy to play with them all day long.

I really enjoyed reading about your ME time and how you make the most of it by indulging in your favorite activities like watching anime and enjoying chips, and I love Conan too! :)

Yeah, it's important for all of us to have some time to ourselves and recharge our batteries, so I'm glad you're making the most of it! :)

Antagal ko na di nakakanood ng anime. The only reason is sahil di ako marunong mag japanese. I don't mind reading subtitles but that would mean mapapako na ako sa kinauupuan ko the whole time na manonood ako. I like to crochet while watching kaya di talaga pede. Next year, kasama na sa curriculum ng anak ko ang japanese kaya baka makapanood na ako ulit while crocheting pa rin, of course. Haha

Wow, nice! Ayown si mommy rome mapapasubok na rin sa Japanese. It's really nice to watch anime in their original sound, dubs aren't my favorites. Ayown lang din, you'll keep reading the subs. There are some animes I don't need subs though, but for so detailed anime like Dr. Stone (lots of scientific terms) or Kimetsu No Yaiba (so many technical terms), I still need subs for them. So I also can't multitask.

Hahaha! I really wanted to go to Japan even before that's why I signed a contract in my previous workplace to stay there for 4 years in exchange of learning Japanese and a chance to go to Japan. The going to Japan never happened though. Butttt I'm here now so weeee!

I’m also a potato at home, Jiji. I can totally relate 😆

Anime plus chips, perfect combo and chippy talaga hihi :) It's good that you do have your alone time every day, pero like you said, may need to consume less of the chips😊

Also great to see you on your best moments, those are incredible times. And I totally agree with you on this:

I think we should still be at our best every single day. We never know what the future holds so let's make the best out of each day.

I was trying to find another brand of chips but couldn’t find it in my photos 😂 I’m really trying my best to lessen on the chips. A struggle but there are just times I get tired of it too. But of course, it’s really bad for our health.

Hehe, it's okay, chippy is our brand, lol! It's good that you are trying not to consume lots. I don't remember how I ditched them because I was addicted too back in the day😅 Now, I barely touch chips.
