My delayed but not denied weekend

Hello dear Hivers.
Due to no particular reason, I have been saving this article in my notes since last weekend.
Before it’s too late I decided to finally share!

As some of us may know, my cousin recently did a Photoshoot against her birthday that fell on Friday last week.
That was actually how I spent my weekend, in a birthday party!

Initially, the plan was to rent a two bedroom Airbnb, from there go to a cool restaurant for dinner date with friends and finally go to the club.
She (my cousin) had a guest list of 15 friends she had invited.
It was a well executed plan and everything was going smoothly. Up until the next day - Saturday. Which was the day she chose to celebrate her birthday.

It started with our hair. We chose to go to the salon the same day as the celebration just so the style stays as new as possible.
An event that was to start by 6pm, was the time we finished making our hair and just leaving the salon.
We had to quickly rush home and pack everything we needed to take to the apartment.

Speaking of apartments, the Airbnb guy had cancel on us last minute. Another delay!
As a result, we began searching for another Airbnb with reservations but we couldn’t find. So we opted for a hotel instead.

Finally we were set to leave for the hotel room. We booked an Uber which infact delayed for an extra 30 minutes.

Ultimately, we arrived the hotel but guess what? Another delay. Four of us (the celebrant, her sister, me and the makeup artist) were asked to book another room because their policy only requires two people per room or an additional amount of 10,000 Naira for an extra person.
After paying for an extra head and much pleading that the makeup artist was not here to stay, they finally let us in.
An event to start by 6pm, was running to 10pm and we hadn’t even started our makeup.

Women and their problems, I know right!

If you thought that was the end of our shortcomings, you thought wrong.
About 11 people started bailing, they gave one excuse or another as to why they wouldn’t attend the party and some promised to make it up.
The total amount of people that made it was 7 of us out of the 15 on the list.

Further more, It was around past 12 we eventually left for the club. Since we couldn’t make it to our dinner date.
Irregardless of all our shortcomings, the celebrant was still in the most cheerful mood. She promised herself that nothing and no one would ruin her day and she lived by it!

It was my first time going to a club in Lagos and I had so much fun I haven’t had in a while.
At the entrance, there was a spotlight and a cute background for pictures. I took a few of course!

We entered the club and had VIP seats courtesy of the celebrant. Fortunately for us, a celebrity Pheelz the producer graced the event and performed his hit song Finesse featuring BNXN.
We drank champagne and we took some shots.

I didn’t realize when I climbed the chair and started vibing to the tunes.
Everyone was in their best moods especially the celebrant.

A plan that started with disappointments and delay ended up being a success.

I didn’t even realize we partied till 5am!
When I saw the time on my phone I was shocked.
We left, got food and headed for our hotel room.

I lost my voice and almost my hearing that night but it was kinda worth it! Hahaha
