Movie recommendation day 5 - The Adam project (2022). You might like it.

Hello dear Hivers.
Today’s episode on movie recommendations you might like is;
”The Adam project.”

Some while ago I use to underestimate Netflix movies and I stood corrected. They always seem to produce remarkable series then their movies are meh.

I expected the same when I first saw this movie ad but because it starred Ryan Reynolds (one of my top favorite actor) as the main character I decided to give it a shot and I was not disappointed.

THE PLOT
A Netflix Sci-fi adventurous movie directed by Shawn Levy and written by Jonathan Tropper, T.S. Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin.

It started in 2050 when a middle aged warplane pilot Adam Reed travelled back to 2018 in time to save his wife Laura.

He believes his superior Maya Sorian - (a wealthy and powerful woman that owns time traveling and exploits it) has a hand in the unfortunate condition of his wife because she tried to expose her bad deeds.
Upon leaving his universe to the past for his mission, he was attacked by the authorities on Maya’s command.

As a result of the assassination, he sustained an injury, his plane got hit and developed few damages that led to him crash landing in a different time line in 2022 instead of 2018.

From here the story cuts and focuses on a younger Adam Reed.

In 2022, A 12 year old Adam lives with his single mom due to his dad passing.
Younger Adam was still arrogant, naive and does not know the value of what he has, even his mother.

One day he went to the woods not far from the house and found an empty floating spaceship.
He ran back inside and saw a bleeding man.
Which happened to be his older self.
After much clarification and catching up, older Adam gained younger Adam’s trust. But he needs his DNA to startup the spaceship in order to complete the mission.

Younger Adam volunteers to help and everything was going smoothly until Maya traces them and sends forces to attack them a second time. This time they were captured but a twist happens. Before they were taken to Maya, Adam’s wife Laura appeared and saved them. But how?

To me, everything was well written and executed.
The actors played their roles impressively well even as some actors are already popularly known as a specific character.
Like the lead actor Ryan Reynolds popularly known as Deadpool plays as Adam in this movie and he perfected the role.
Also Mark Ruffalo popularly known in marvel movies as The Hulk acted as Adam’s father in this movie and he too perfected the role.

I love how humorous and amusing the movie is. Irregardless that they were in a life or death situation, they managed to take the edge of and find humor in it.

Although I expected nothing less because if you know Ryan Reynolds, you would know most of the movies he stars in turns out to be hilarious.
I also admired how they managed to make physics look fun and entertaining. Time traveling was also comically explained.

Furthermore, In as much as I enjoyed this movie there was just one thing I disliked.
For me, the movie was a bit predictable.
I normally enjoy an improbable movie with a good twist but this one did not deliver one hundred percent.
Probably because there are so many movies with this liking so it was easy for me to foresee the next thing that would happen.

That aside this was a great movie and in my books it deserves a 4/5 star rating.

I’ll leave you to wonder;
We’re they able to stop and defeat Maya? How did Laura, the woman Adam came to save end up saving him? Did their alterations with the timeline change anything in the past or future?
