Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. The need to be good to other people can not be overemphasized and no one knows the time he will reap the benefits of the good seeds he has sowed in life. A friend got transferred to my state, so I had to help him look out for an apartment that he will be staying with his family, in fact I spent the whole of last Saturday supervising the painting of the apartment, a two bedroom apartment.

I met this man in my first year in the university, a senior colleague turned friend. He was the one who housed me first before my hostel accommodation pulled through. I stayed with him for a couple of weeks before moving to my hostel and he was a very nice person. Who knows that I will also be of help to him in this way. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.

There is an adage in Yorùbá language that goes thus: "Omi ni ènìyàn", which translates that human being are like water, we can literally flow to any location. Those days in school I wouldn't believe if anyone had told me that I will be reuniting with this friend of mine after about five years, and not only that, that I will help him to look for an apartment and also assist in coordinating the minor renovation. It just pays to be good to people that you meet in every day of your life because you don't know where you might meet tomorrow.

There are some people that may contact me for a thing like this that I would not think it twice before I decline the request, just because they do not deserve my time. I know how many things I put on hold on that day but it was worth it.

Every thing is good in the apartment except for the paint on the wall that is having patches and looking dirty. The patches on the wall is as a result of the wall being soaked with water. It seems the environment is a swamp area, so the walls are always getting wet, so it marred the paint. The initial plan was to repaint the whole house with the color that was there but the painter advised that we should use a dark color to paint the lower parts because the initial color is a light color and in no time the patches will still be visible.

So, we decided to use a dark shade that was got from the mixture of off-white and red. We bought two 4 liters of red gloss (or oil paint) and one 4 liters of off-white paint which was mixed together to get the color in the picture.

The whole painting took almost the whole day, starting from about 8am when I left my house to meet up with the painter where we bought the materials needed, that is, the paints, masking tape, fuel and other things. The job was quite slow because he was the only one who worked, he didn't come with another person to support. But in the end he did a good job and my friend was impressed when he saw the pictures.
