ARE YOU CONSTANTLY BOTHERED ABOUT THE PAST OR THE FUTURE?

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this hour. It is the habit of most people to live in either the past or the future. That is, brooding over what happened yesterday or what might happen tomorrow. They find it hard to live in the present and can affect their well-being. Well, sit back, relax and enjoy all that I have packaged for your reading pleasure.

One way to live in the moment is to be thankful for all that you have now, not thinking about all you wish you had in the past or what you wish you have in the future. If you are always bothered about the things you do not have, then you are not grateful for the things you have at the moment. Expressing gratitude on a daily basis is a way of living in the moment.

One way to practice gratitude is to write a list of things you are grateful for and review that list on a daily basis. Try to write at least three things you are grateful for in your life right now. Alternatively, you can do a gratitude rampage, where you write out as many things as you can think of in a certain time period.

It is easier to live in the present moment when you take some time to observe what is happening around you. Most of us, due to a busy schedule do not take out time to notice our environment. Our minds are occupied with how to meet a deadline or how to catch up with someone or something. When you dedicate some time during the day to look around and observe your environment, your mind will be away from other forms of activities for a while and you will live in the present.

Multitasking, that is, doing more than one thing at a time may be a good idea, but if if it is done every time, it may be difficult to live in the present moment. The level of productivity is always high when you focus on one thing at a time rather than engaging in two or more different tasks at the same time. Multitasking will require more energy and attention which will deter you from thinking straight. All you would have on your mind is how to finish the task, your mind would not be at rest until you have completed the task. But if you're a focused on one thing at a time, you'd be more into all that is happening at that point in time.

It is impossible to always have things go the way we want it in life. Some things are always beyond our control and accepting it is the way forward. If you really want to live in the present moment, you must be ready to accept what life throws at you, sometimes because life is not often the way you plan it.

Smartphones and social media may also have an adverse effect on your ability to live in the present. Taking a break from social media can be very helpful. It is the habit of some people to be busy with their phones even when other people are around. It is important to know when to take a break from social media in order to be able to concentrate and focus on the things around you.

Living in the moment is more healthy and good for your well-being rather than worrying about the past or even the future. Learn how to appreciate every single moment of your life and do not take people around you for granted, by getting busy with your phone, for instance. Treasure every moment of your life and live it one moment at a time.
