What's Obvious To Us Can Be Amazing To Others

Sometimes when I teach something or explain something, it's all really obvious to me & it makes me feel like what I'm teaching isn't really phenomenal. I think this is something alot of us can relate with. The fact that what we know is obvious to us makes us not appreciate that what's obvious to us can be amazing to others.

I remember when I was in High School, due to my enormous love for music I began considering the path of being a musician. I'd spend alot of time trying to create tunes & melodies. Often times, I'd come up with lovely sound & even move on to write a song, but after spending so much time on the sound it becomes too obvious to me & I get bored of it. I'd end up dumping the song, thinking it isn't good enough.

But even if it isn't good enough, that's completely fine. You know, we all move around thinking there's a spotlight trained on us. That people are watching us & Judging us, but truth is people are more worried about themselves. So one shouldn't hesitate to put themselves or their work out there and surely I shouldn't have hesitated to put my sound out there. Who knows, perhaps I could have become the next Big Wiz by now.🙂

This issue of finding our ideas too obvious is why alot of people shy away from sharing they're ideas & works & is one of the major causes of Imposter syndrome; an internal experience of believing that you are not as competent as others perceive you to be.

When your ideas becomes too obvious to you, it can cause your mind to create doubts. You begin to question yourself. But often times than not, these ideas turn out to be great, you only see them to be absurd because they've become to obvious to you.

As content creators, most of our contents are inspired by others. As a matter of fact I don't think any content is completely void of inspiration from other's work. This makes us more prone to the imposter syndrome as we feel that our ideas inspired by others sometimes aren't good enough. Or that we aren't in a good enough position to put these ideas out there.

You see other people's work & you say: " Wow! That guy is a genius, I could never have come up with that". Then you look at your own idea & think of it to be too obvious & unexciting. Well, I'm here to break it to you: Everyone finds their ideas to be too obvious.

So whenever you're reluctant to share something & whenever you're being consumed by imposter syndrome, Just remember: What is obvious to you can be amazing to others

Awwn
Really do appreciate you checking up. I've just been really busy lately.

I'm in my final year, final semester in the university, I'm studying Petroleum Engineering. I'm currently working on my project & that's taking good amount of my time. Coupled with alot of other things in hand at the moment.

I'm finding it hard to keep the balance as I'm quite new to content creation & I seem to be having writers block steady 😂

But surely I'm here to stay & will be back active ASAP.

Once again, thanks a bunch for checking up. Really means alot.
