I love what I share in this vlog.

My student was feeling frustrated because she has been practicing affirmations, repeating positive phrases, in order to improve her life, and they always seem to have the opposite effect.

I have had many similar experiences so I know exactly why this is happening; it's the fuel we are using. I go into the different ways to push ourselves forward and how finding better fuel can change everything and make it so that affirmations don't lead you to shooting yourself in the foot.

Of course I always prefer Hive and 3speak but a follow and like (and especially a share) at YouTube will help this reach more people 😃

Hahahaha, it happened to me too ... that's why I put aside the affirmations, and I chose to heal myself, to clean myself first. We are similar to houses, to environments, first you have to clean them well with soap and water, rinse and dry them, in order to later apply the floor wax, the air freshener. That is, first clean, heal, and then start the journey to success.

Hahaha... When did you cut your hair? Oopppss. I might have missed that part because you are always wearing headwarmer in your videos.

The drama with your student is unravelling in a very nice way and it seems that you are currently on a journey of self reflection. Heheh... It's really good to be in a teaching position because sometimes, we learn alot by Teaching others.

Inspiration and motivation are always intertwined by alot of people and l wouldn't blame them because it's as confusion as it comes.

Having a good blend of inspiration & motivation is actually important. I hope that your student would find something that she is really going to feel passionate about.

I need to SHAVE my hair! I want to be a potato again.

I have actually never heard anyone make this distinction before. I just felt that there is actually a small nuance of difference and that nuance can point to a totally different foundation. I think for a “flow state” it’s all inspiration, but as you say, a mix is quite common and it’s not bad! We can’t start out at Michael Jordan level!

motivation should be more to do anything I am 101 % motivated for hive now and I am sure inspired by few users here but if I have lack of motivation then there is no use of inspiration at all .

I’ve used this words in a unique way. Most of the time they are used interchangeable but I think there are two kinds of “motivation”, the inspired and the uninspired.

Great advice and perspective. I've never really thought about doubt being a blockage and doubting affirmations could have a negative impact. That's a really interesting concept.

This really put a lot stuff happening in my life in perspective as far as motivation and goals. Thank you for sharing this!

Never been a fan of affirmations; one of my spiritual teachers back in the late 1990's pointed out that our body wisdom is much smarter than words we speak. He said "If you're standing in front of the mirror saying affirmations you don't really believe, the person in the mirror KNOWS you're lying, so it won't work."

The best motivation tends to be to apply yourself consistently to something and seeing that it WORKS. Then, with that in mind, the affirmations start working because you're no longer lying to yourself.

Affirmations work best as confirmations to support something you're already on the way to succeeding at.

Wise words. They often fell off to me too. Only worked temporary and I often had doubt about the effect. It's like trying to add forced positive self talk to counter your negative self talk.

Actually Now that I think About it I’ve used the positive to counter the negative. I think it can actually help but it needs to be done with full recognition that you are working towards believing it and that the goal is to cancel out the negative talk, not to manifest anything.

Thanks for bringing that up, and inspiring an eventual part 2, but I already have up until 14 recorded 😂

I sure try to do something similar. Not just in my mind but also in real life. It's still a daily task for me though and it takes effort to be aware of the negative self talk going on quickly enough. Getting better and better at it though.

Less coffee, more rest ( sleep ) and more exercise make a difference.

I find doing things that generate excitement my best tool, which is why I got a PlayStation 3 this week! This PS3 is going to make me a million dollars just with how excited it made me!

This was a nice one. You cracked me up when you joked about your own baldness. Funny enough, seeing you here, I wondered if your hair is growing back. I also noticed you bumped your head into the notice board on the wall behind you. You need a bigger room my friend ;<)

Keep these self help videos coming. I still love the name ( especially the trolls part ) and concept. Wonder where this is going in the long run.

I bump my head into all kinds of things without noticing. My gf saw me bump my head on a hanger 3 times in 3 minutes and just looked at me in utter disbelief. “What!” “You knocked into that 3 times!!!! What’s wrong with you!”

It’s not growing back in full force yet but Ive totally halted the retreat... now I’m ....stuck in the middle with you

I guess that shows that you can be pretty focused, once you'r in the flow ;<)

I hit my head every now and then, but usually in stupid ways ( like wanting to jump outside, then jump too soon and hitting the door post hard ). This happened recently and made me fall backwards and almost injure my back on some steps. I sure felt that head collision and almost had a concussion.

Good to know you halted the retreat of your hair loss. I got plenty ( haven't had a haircut since June ) so if you ever want to lend some...
