I found this contest #6 that brings us the @cinnccf team and I was interested in participating, because I am one of the people who love coffee and I also like to write stories related to it, this time we have a monster as a pet that only drinks coffee, for a long time so I hope you enjoy my story.
"The Strange Coffee Lover "
On a night of heavy rains, Carlos and Teresa were very cold, they prepared a strong coffee to soothe the intense cold that crept into the atmosphere. With their big cups of coffee they enjoyed their hot drink in front of the fireplace, and their pet cat in the middle of the two of them, making a scene of comfort. The cat's name was Helen, she was beautiful and had beautiful brown fur, they had adopted her 10 years ago, they had become so fond of her, that they slept in the same room the three of them, of course she in her ostrich feather quilted basket. The couple could not have children, so all the affection was for her.
There is a special friendship between them that allows them to have enough confidence to tell each other their hermetic secrets. They had been together for 30 years. The two talked about their economic situation, which was not the same, since recently Teresa had left her job due to health problems, she was a fantastic veterinarian, as she loved animals, but as a matter of fate she began to suffer from a rare disease that prevented her from continuing in her passionate work. Her husband Carlos was a prestigious lawyer who also had many clients famous for winning the most difficult cases.
One morning the alarm clock did not ring, therefore both woke up late, however this day was special, Carlos was late in going to his office on the other hand the weather was against him, not clearly that morning he got up with his left foot, since the traffic was heavy, for such a situation he arrived late to his office and with some headache, he left so late that he could not enjoy his cup of coffee, as he used to drink before leaving home.
On the other hand, Teresa noticed that many things were missing in the pantry, especially coffee, which they were very addicted to, and she was surprised if two days before she had bought two kilos of coffee. With winter in full swing, they drank three cups a day each, and her cat did not escape from it, so she decided to go shopping at the supermarket. On her return she put all the products in the upstairs pantry and emptied the coffee powder into a glass container with an airtight lid, to secure it, as she sensed that someone else was making coffee on the sly.
In her breakfast she used to make a lot of coffee and serve three cups of coffee, since her pet Helen liked it very much, they had black coffee and she with milk and cinnamon, each time she increased her consumption, maybe because they spoiled her too much and tried to please her.
One day, Teresa was about to serve the table for breakfast, Carlos sat down with his impeccable suit, since he had an important work meeting, his wife served him first, and when he was about to take his cup of coffee suddenly the cat jumped towards the cup and spilled all the coffee in his suit, obviously she wanted to be the first to taste that succulent drink.
In the middle of the disaster they realized that their pet had become a monster since he ruined their breakfast and their best suit.
Maybe it was too much attention and consent given to their mascot who wanted to be the first in everything proving to be another addict of that drink that catches everyone.
I really enjoyed doing this kind of contest and especially talking about coffee which is one of the things I enjoy the most in my life, because I like its bitter taste and smell and also if they are accompanied by my strange coffee lover. Helen was definitely in a dangerous situation of addiction by behaving as she did. That's why we must be careful with everything we like and that can create a certain addiction; everything in excess is harmful.
