Apoyando a mi hermano en esta nueva etapa de su vida 🥰 (ESP/ENG)

Hola a todos, como siempre es un placer pasarme por esta bella comunidad donde podemos expresar nuestros sentimientos hacia nuestros seres queridos, tanto amigos como familiares. Creo que la familia es ese apoyo incondicional que siempre está ahí para ayudarnos y apoyarnos en todo y así se lo demostramos a mi hermano, ya que se le presentó un cambio bastante importante en su vida y todos estuvimos ahí para apoyarlo. Les cuento a continuación.

Todo comenzó cuando mi hermano nos dijo que la familia de su esposa y ella se iban para otro país y tenían planeado llevárselo a él también. Claramente fue una sorpresa para todos nosotros, pero nos alegramos mucho por él porque sabemos que en nuestro país la situación no es muy buena y este nuevo modo de vida significaría que él tuviera un mejor futuro y posibilidad de ayudarnos también.

Después de varias semanas de preparativos, finalmente compraron los pasajes para el día 12 de abril, y como el aeropuerto queda en La Habana y nosotros somos de Pinar del Río, decidimos ir para La Habana el día 11 para que no hubiera problemas al día siguiente, pues actualmente la situación del transporte en Cuba no es muy buena y no queríamos ninguna complicación. Además, tenemos familiares allí que estuvieron más que dispuestos a recibirnos tanto a nosotros como a la familia de la esposa de mi hermano.

Ya el plan estaba hecho, y el martes 11 salimos en la tarde hacia La Habana. Antes de irnos mi hermano se despidió de sus mejores amigos y de mi abuela que se quedó en casa un poco triste. Al viaje fuimos mi mamá, mi tía, mi primo y yo. De camino a la terminal de ómnibus pasamos por el trabajo de mi esposo para que se pudiera despedir de mi hermano.

Ya en la terminal nos reunimos con los suegros y el cuñado de mi hermano y antes de irnos él se pudo despedir de su otra hermana por parte de padre, que es menor que él. Fue una despedida donde ambos lloraron y no pude evitar pensar que al día siguiente me vería en esa misma situación. Luego de esperar en una larga cola, nos fuimos en un camión y después de varias horas de viaje finalmente llegamos a La Habana.

En total éramos 9 personas y yo era la guía, pues al visitar esta ciudad todos los años en vacaciones, me sabía mover un poco mejor, además que era la única que había ido antes a casa de mi tía Damaris, en donde íbamos a quedarnos esa noche. Para llegar hasta allá tuvimos que montar tres guaguas diferentes, siempre chequeando que ninguno se quedara atrás, toda la tropa unida 😅.

Llegamos casi de noche, muy cansados del largo viaje y después de comer todos juntos en la mesa, estuvimos hablando con mi bisabuela que hacía tiempo no veíamos, que es una persona muy tierna y dulce, al igual que con mi tía Damaris y mi papá y el papá de mi hermano también estaban allí para ver y despedirse de mi hermano. Nos separamos para dormir porque éramos muchos, unos durmieron en casa de unas primas que viven cerca y los demás en casa de mi tía.

Al día siguiente llegó lo inevitable, todos estábamos bien hasta que a las 9 en punto vino el carro a recoger a mi hermano, su esposa y familia para llevárselos al aeropuerto. En ese momento fue imposible no abrazarse más fuerte y llorar todos juntos al despedir a mi hermano, no hubo tiempo para más fotos porque cada segundo contaba.

En fin, fue un momento muy emocional en el que estábamos muy felices por él y esta nueva oportunidad que tiene en la vida, así como muy tristes porque lo vamos a extrañar demasiado. Pero así es la realidad que viven muchas familias hoy en Cuba, dónde se ven obligados a separarse buscando una mejor vida. Por ahora toca ser fuerte y desearle todo lo mejor, por lo menos sabemos que está en buenas manos ya que la familia de su esposa es para él como una segunda familia.

Hello everyone, as always it is a pleasure to visit this beautiful community where we can express our feelings towards our loved ones, both friends and family. I believe that family is that unconditional support that is always there to help us and support us in everything and we showed it to my brother, since he had a major change in his life and we were all there to support him. I will tell you about it below.

It all started when my brother told us that his wife's family and she were leaving for another country and they were planning to take him too. Clearly it was a surprise for all of us, but we were very happy for him because we know that in our country the situation is not very good and this new way of life would mean that he would have a better future and possibility to help us too.

After several weeks of preparations, they finally bought the tickets for April 12, and since the airport is in Havana and we are from Pinar del Rio, we decided to go to Havana on the 11th so that there would be no problems the following day, since the transportation situation in Cuba is not very good at the moment and we did not want any complications. Besides, we have relatives there who were more than willing to receive us and my brother's wife's family.

The plan was made, and on Tuesday 11th we left in the afternoon for Havana. Before leaving, my brother said goodbye to his best friends and my grandmother who stayed home a little sad. My mother, my aunt, my cousin and I went on the trip. On the way to the bus terminal we stopped by my husband's work so he could say goodbye to my brother.

Once at the terminal we met with my brother's in-laws and brother-in-law and before we left he was able to say goodbye to his other sister on his father's side, who is younger than him. It was a farewell where they both cried and I couldn't help but think that the next day I would be in that same situation. After waiting in a long line, we left in a truck and after several hours of travel we finally arrived in Havana.

In total there were 9 of us and I was the guide, because having visited this city every year on vacation, I knew how to move a little better, plus I was the only one who had gone before to my aunt Damaris' house, where we were going to stay that night. To get there we had to ride three different buses, always checking that no one was left behind, the whole troop united 😅.

We arrived almost at night, very tired from the long trip and after eating all together at the table, we were talking with my great-grandmother that we had not seen for a long time, who is a very tender and sweet person, as well as with my aunt Damaris and my dad and my brother's dad were also there to see and say goodbye to my brother. We separated to sleep because there were many of us, some slept at the house of some cousins who live nearby and the rest at my aunt's house.

The next day came the inevitable, we were all fine until at 9 o'clock the car came to pick up my brother, his wife and family to take them to the airport. At that moment it was impossible not to hug tighter and cry all together as we said goodbye to my brother, there was no time for more pictures because every second counted.

Anyway, it was a very emotional moment in which we were very happy for him and this new opportunity he has in life, as well as very sad because we are going to miss him too much. But this is the reality that many families live today in Cuba, where they are forced to separate in search of a better life. For now we have to be strong and wish him all the best, at least we know that he is in good hands since his wife's family is for him like a second family.
