Hello Everyone!!

I am finally able to have time to finish this month-old WIP. I choose to draw this monster because he looks like a ninja and I'm very much fond of ninjas.

Drawing Process

The first thing I've done is look for a ninja pose that would best fit with Dhampir infiltrator on Pinterest. I then started the rough sketch with a pencil brush. In this drawing, I was also exploring Krita. It was kinda difficult at first, especially with the shortcut keys it took me time to adjust to it. But it's enjoyable to paint with Krita since the brush textures and pressure sensitivity feel natural.

In this artwork, I was following Marc Brunet's coloring steps on youtube, or at least that was the plan. I started off with the flat colors using a hard brush in a normal blend mode layer. Then decided where should be the light source and painted the affected areas of my character using a soft brush in a Hardlight blend mode layer. Then I added a layer below the light source layer and set it on to Multiply to paint my shadows.

I added a layer on the top of the light source layer and also set it to a Hardlight blend mode for the reflections on the materials and another hardlight blending mode for the bounce lights to put contrast on the focal point which was his face. I added seemingly blood particles around him because I want to play with rimlights a bit, I want to make it as another source of light. So for the Rimlights, I duplicated the whole character and paint it with the color of the light source which is red, then set it on color dodge and painted the unaffected areas with black.

And here is the final result...
