Needful News
The world is a filled with ways to stay informed and the options are overwhelming. Every day, if you own a smartphone or other electronic device, you awaken to notifications from multiple news sources ready to be the first article to grab your attention.
The headlines are often explosive, sharing the horrible state of the economy, the current Russian and Ukrainian conflict, bombs, death, coronavirus and more. It's tempting to unplug and retreat to somewhere safe. You wish that you could shield your eyes, your children and your family from witnessing the utter cruelty that men afflict on their own brothers and sisters.
It's healthy to disengage; to limit time online or reading and listening to all of the news coverage. The Bible gives sound advice and the best thing to do is love your neighbor as yourself. It also commands us to pray for one another. There is a precious promise that comes with prayer and that is that the peace of God will be given to you once you give Him your burdens.
While many people are looking for answers in drugs, legal and illicit, alcohol and other reality escapes, the peace provided is indescribable but real. The best thing about God's peace is that it is free and abundant.
It's important to stay informed. I watched a video on YouTube of Mark Dice interviewing people on the beach in California. His question was, "Who is America's vice president?"
On this twenty minute segment I believe one person knew her name. It's frightening to understand that people like this will be voting in the next election.

You are quite right. We will never have peace on earth, but we can have peace in our own heart. I am trying to forget who the VP is, because I don't have a very good opinion of her. Since Biden is incapable of truly being president, I'm not sure we really have a VP, if you know what I mean.
I am on the same page with you. We have the weakest leadership and the state of this nation and the direction we are headed doesn't bode well for any of us. The only peace out there is the peace of God for me. I'm so grateful for His Word and my church. Thank you for reading and commenting. I hope you're doing well.
