My journey with DSLR cameras #2 Choosing next camera

Hi! Let's pickup where we left over over a month ago... I imagine normal person if they want to buy 'new' DSRL camera just check the budget, looks which camera fit the budget and go for it. For me that was not really an option, as even if had budget I will try to maximise bang for the buck. Also I'm not afraid of buying used so I will focus only on used. I've initially set very limited budged around $250. Unfortunately I spent many hours and my conclusion it seems it is too little.

So I'm looking for Canon with APS-C Sensor and EF-S mount. As I've already lenses for that system, and I not willing yet to switch to anything new. Also EF-S is compatible with EF mount so it is really big market for used lens ;-) In summary I've set these important features to me and mark them which are crucial (C), which are nice to have(H):

  • (C) EF/EF-S Lens mount
  • (C) 20++ Mega pixel sensor
  • (C) Record videos at Full HD at 25 fps minimum
  • (C) Screen needs to articulate so I could see when I'm recording myself
  • (C) WIFI connection to PC or Phone, I do not want to risk damaging SD card slot
  • (H) More granular ISO range for astrophotography
  • (H) LCD screen on top
  • (H) Shutter that can do 1/8000 speed

The best thing I found when trying to prepare create a list of camera's body I'm open to buy, was the Wikipedia EOS digital camera timeline: " " \" \"EOS Digital Camera timeline.PNG\"\""" Which helped me immensely when looking at listening's as Entry level cameras starts from 300D and then moving to 850D but also there are 100D,200D which appeared as a entry level cameras to entry level cameras segment ;D Also I'm not sure if going for newer but more entry level camera is smarter choice or better older but higher grade body. This chart is really clever and list many features at a glance and without it I would be really lost.

So based on my requirements I've prepared list of cameras I'm looking for:

  1. Canon 760D
  2. Canon 70D
  3. Canon 750D
  4. Canon 700D

My chain of thought is that my goal is to find a 760D withing my budget, if not but found, then move down the priority list. As those 4 cameras will meet my criteria, let the best deal decide what to buy. So my hunt had begin. As this post becoming long I will pause here. Hopefully I will write how my hunt for new DSRL went ;-)

"3.jpeg" oh what is this? This was not on shopping list!

Thanks,
WallAR
