"Definitely a Grown Up"
Happy New Month everyone! We are down to the last month of year 2022. Have you ever done looking back to previous experiences you had so far this year? I hope you have a lot of things to be grateful of amidst the shortcomings and undesirable things that's happening around.
Anyways, am I too late for this week's prompt? Aigoo! Hopefully, I still can give out the best I can to share my thoughts about the topic being given. Actually, its not really my intention to join but not the point that I am also not interested. Its just maybe I am not in capable of it, (just a thought) but I really wanted to show what I've got for this week's prompt hosted by this community.
As for last week's creative nonfiction writing prompt, I wasn't able to join due to some personal concerns and other stuffs I did, (honestly, I focused myself on doing other side hustles too) which really gave me a hard time to think about writing about the certain topic for that. My sincere apologies for that.
Going on further, we are down to the last day of this week's Creative Nonfiction Writing Prompt with a topic "Growth." Save the best for last? I am not confident enough to claim that. What I really have in mind is to only share my thoughts about it and hoping that I can come up with a good content for this one.
What did it mean to you as a child, as a teenager, and older?

- As what I have told you before, I am an only child. In that situation, I've grown up with a strict parents. There were times that I can't go out to play with other children or they really intent not to give me a permission to go out. That's one of the reasons that I felt like I am not belong in the children's world back then. To tell you the truth there were times that I escape home just to experience playing with others. And because of that, I've got reprimanded for acting that way. Childhood is where everything all started. In this stage, it is where you start to develop the sense of social relation. Of course, innocent side is still there. In my case, I probably can't say that I was able to enjoy my childhood days, but its not boring at all.

- Teenage years. It is where you start to seek for your identity or the place where you really belong. Back then, some people will say that I am not straight due to how I dress up. Back in my childhood, specifically in my elementary days, I am exposed in sexy dresses and make ups. But I grown up being a teenage girl, I started to change my taste when it comes to how I look. But eventually, it changed and I am proudly say that I am straight. Being in this stage, I started to improve my social skills and develop a sense of friendship too. Of course, I was able to understand more about why my parents treat me that way before. They are just looking after my safety.

- Being old comes with bigger responsibilities. It is where you start to become more mature in handling everything whatever circumstances it maybe. A lot of pressures will come your way, great expectations, in which will somehow influence you on how will you keep up in the society that you currently live in. You will also be hearing more of social norms and its merely up to you how to react about it. Based on my experiences, I must say it is very hard in this stage of life. I will not share further about it anymore instead if you are really interested to know why I said so, check out this link.
Did you wish you were grown up until you got there and then wish you weren't?
- As far as I can remember this idea didn't came to my mind. Not even a single time. Instead, now that I have grown up, I thought of wishing that I shouldn't. But that's how life should be. We were born as a child, later than that, grown to be as a teenage, and eventually become an adult. We can't stop that life cycle because like I said, that's how it should be.

Was there an event that made you grow up faster than those around you?
- I can honestly say that there isn't. It could be because I am just letting myself grow out slowly in accordance with the influence by my friends and other people surrounding me right now.
Were your feelings about growing up influenced by friends, siblings, or others?

- Yes, but excluding siblings because I don't have one. There were certain people of my life who influenced me to become who and what I am. Well, not in all aspects by the way. Somehow, I am grateful for their help for me to be able to realize how worthy I am and to give more of importance to myself more than anyone or anything else.
Was there a startling moment when you realized that you were, in fact all, grown up?
- My situation right now. Like, I am not hurt because of the broken relationship I went through before but what hurting me more were about the responsibilities, pressures, and great expectations I shouldered. I definitely considered it as the startling moments which made me realized that I am really a grown up now. And by that, I should learn to work for things independently and as much as possible, maturely.
Its hard for the first time but, this challenges, I am the only one who can definitely solve it. And I am confident to say this because God is with me. He is with me right from the start.

Thank you for your time.
TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!

Thanks for joining this weeks' creative nonfiction prompt, @volleyren20. Yes, you have submitted your story in plenty of time.
It sounds like you had a very nice upbringing, with good friends and parents who may have been strict yet supportive.
Thank you for reading and commenting on the work of other community members!
The pleasure is mine @theinkwell. I would like to say thank you too, for giving us the opportunity to express ourselves in here.
Those "startling moments" when a person realizes they are grown up are memorable. It's that moment when you part with your childhood ways and realize that you must take responsibility for your future. I enjoyed reading your essay, @volleyren20.
Thanks a lot for your time sir @jayna, and of course, everytime I am sharing my stories and experiences in here, I never missed to get a compliment from you. I really appreciate it. (smiles)
Hahaha. Is this renren sis on readcash… if yes. It’s so much nicer meeting you here. Hehehe
And yeah growth is just inevitable. And that life for us.
You have grown up so much despite the challenges in your childhood and even as a teenager. But there is nothing we can do about not becoming an adult. We all have to get a taste of it.
Nice pictures
Yes! Yes! Yes bro. Finally, I've met you here too. Hihi.
Definitely agreed with you brother. All we have to do is to look a room for improvement. Or course, enjoying every moment that gives us happiness and pleasures.
Nice meeting you again dear friend…
And you said it all.
Nice meeting you here too bro.☺️
Taking responsibility of your life at some point in time is one thing that growing up does to an individual.
Those moment must be relished. We realise that we do not necessarily remain the same all through life. Those changes must be come and we must identify and live with them.
Great write!
I will definitely agree to that. Thanks for your time sir @mrenglish and for the compliment.
Absolutely! When I was a teenager I couldn’t wait to grow up and move out of my parents. Now as a grown up I wish I could just go to school and play with my mates! What a life it was 😍💙
I miss those days too Ma'am @fantagira .. Like, I don't have to think about problems, especially when it comes to financial matters. Hihi
Totally! These were the happy days. Why did we rushed so much to grow up? 😅
We should just take it slow and let the time drive for us. Hihi
This is beautiful and I can see how you've grown, so many years have passed by and here you are all grown up... Thank God!
Thanks for dropping by my dear.
