How I Save Environment with Little Things

Hello Buddies...

This is a great prompt. I can share a little of my experience and my efforts for the environment. Sure, it hasn't become a big deal yet. I've only tried it on myself, and it's always situational. But one thing's for sure, I always try my best to care for my environment.

The first thing I did was try Zero Waste.

In this regard, I tried quite hard to avoid throwing away more waste—especially plastic. I started carrying a tumbler everywhere so I didn't buy bottled drinks. Unfortunately, Jakarta doesn't have many water refills. They're only available at a few stations, and they often run out. So, it's not reliable. Sometimes I also have to buy mineral water if my journey is too long or long. I need to stay hydrated, right?

Also, I try to buy things in my own containers. It's a hassle having to carry containers everywhere, so I bought some foldable containers for easy portability. At home, I bring my own container when I need to buy food or drink coffee. This is my method that is very difficult for Muggles (the name for those who worship practical plastic containers—borrowing a term from JK Rowling's books) to understand. Here is my Self-container for lunch...

The second is Making Compost

Besides striving for zero plastic waste, I'm also reducing organic waste like food scraps—chicken bones, leftover rice from over-eating, or food and vegetable waste. I put all of this in compost bags mixed with soil. I started this in October and have stopped throwing food waste into the landfill. Now, I have very little waste when the garbage collectors come to my neighborhood to pick it up.

The third is Not Buying Clothes in the near future.

This may be closely related to minimalism, but not buying a lot of clothes is an eco-friendly movement. Yes, if you can maximize the contents of your wardrobe, you've already reduced your environmental impact. Correct me If I'm Wrong.

I've been suppressing the urge to buy clothes when I see one that catches my eye. I let it go and instilled in myself the idea that I don't need new clothes for any gathering. If I don't have a decent outfit, I'll consider not accepting the invitation.

So, these are some tips for saving the environment. I don't think the impact will be huge, considering that many people still choose practicality over saving the environment, but I think I should start doing these good things myself.

Hasta La Vista...

Thanks in advance, to read my blog and hope you like my post!
See you on the next post...

Vivie Hardika

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.

I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
