IDEA: Banks + NFTs Collectible Game - Who Wants to Buy a Bank? | Looking at Bankrupt Banks Over the Years
Who wants to buy a bank? Or rather a picture of a bank? Or maybe an NFT of a (picture of a) bank?
Many banks fail during the challenging economic times. They lend and loan money out and get interest which it turns pays the bills to keep the bank open. In order for this to happen there needs to be a certain amount of depositors' funds available to the bank. Most of the time most of the banks have fared well. Fortunately today we have some levels of insurance and acquisition and mergers that help acquire some of these banks so that businesses and people may have access to their money and business may continue as usual.
Looking at the 21st century bank failures we only see a few until around 2008. From some hands fulls to one hundred-forty banks (140).
Then looking back a little further there are hundreds of banks failing around the year 1989, a little over two decades ago. Couple years in 1008 and 2009 had some rather larger bank failures that we've experienced.
Then we may look at the bank failures during the times of the great depression nearly a century ago.
Looking back to the late nineteenth century shows us a look at a period of "Banking Panics" that most of us are unaware of. Banking was much more of a risky business being invested in stocks while being uninsured.
Maybe we may like a game of NFTs with a little Monopoly flavor. As we could "own" parts of the ideas of banks through that of NFTs with our new fund tech. What bank would you want to own part of!? Would it be a recent one, or one from a long time ago? Maybe choose between a bank with or without any money left just for added excitement! There could be a bank of banks buying and selling these "banks" NFTs. Could we rust such a bank, and would you trust such a bank? If only we could gamify a working solution. Seems there are many challenges and complexities that get one of the few out there. Although many have their money at something more of a local bank which is safer with local investments. We as humans get to have all the fun challenges!
Hope you enjoyed this little look at bank charts with thoughts of awareness of the banking world out there.
