HELLO FELLOW HOMESTEADERS

It's good to be here once again sharing my content with you, and here today I'll be sharing some helpful tips and guide on the process of how to make palm oil from palm kernel at home, palm oil are one of the most common oil and it's derived from palm kernel, they are very essential to us in the areas of food, flavours and beautification.

Mostly in these parts of the world we use palm oil for meal, to cook our food, a flavour for our soups and the likes, so in a bid to cut cost and save up more as an homesteader, I decided to dive into making of some palm oil that'll mainly be use by my household, although if the output and taste was perfect, then I might jump into making more for commercial purposes to earn more money.

Making palm oil isn't an easy task, but I was fortunate to have a grandfather who's an expert in making them, so I learn this act from him during my young age, but I've not tried it alone personally since then, and he's no more with us to put me through incase I'm not doing it right, so to aid me in making something nice, I watch some videos of it making to refresh my memory.

So here I share some of the process of how to make the palm oil below.

  • The first thing to do after harvesting the bunches of palm kernel from the palm tree is to threshed out all the palm fruit from the full bunch of palm kernel.

At first, I was trying to removing the fruit from the full bunch with my hands and that was very slow because I was trying to avoid getting sting by the sharp parts of the palm bunch.

But i later break into into pieces with an axe, and these made the separation easier, although I still needed more hands in removing it.

Without having more hands in removing the palm fruit, then I'll spend nothing less than 5 days in removing them, but with 4 people hands on the threshing, so it took us 2 days to finally threshed all the bunches.

Finally, after separating all the 3 bunches of palm kernel, we were able to gather two big bowl of palm fruit, and from previous experience with my grandfather, I'll be expecting us to get at least 5 liters of palm oil from these 3 bunch of palm kernel.

These is the first phrase of making the palm oil which revolves around threshing the bunch of palm kernel, and in the next phrase i'll be going into details on the process of how we'll make the palm oil.

Thanks for checking out my blog post, have a blessed day ahead.

One thing I hate about palm oil making is that it requires long processes not minding that I have a family palm tree where every grown-up family member can easily harvest and make palm oils without paying for the palm trees.

Yea it takes a long time to completely process, but then it's worth the time and effort in the end.
