Melchor, or Mel to his friend, was possibly the most selfish kid in his neighborhood. No matter who asks, Mel will always refuse to lend or share his stuff with his friends or even siblings. For that very reason, Mel's moniker was "Grinch", Yeah, it originated from a movie with the same title.

Of course, Mel was not as bad as the titular Grinch, but his selfishness seemed to be enough to warrant the moniker. Most people think that Mel will never change and that his selfishness will continue into his adult years.

And yet, to everyone's surprise, Mel did change. The boy, for unexplainable reasons, started to share his stuff with his fellow kids. No one knew what had happened to Mel, but they were happy that he had changed for the better.

Unbeknownst to anyone, though, Mel has a reason for his change in attitude, and it's because of an encounter with a mysterious old woman who taught the boy a hard lesson he'll never forget.

The old woman in question was actually not a human but an entity with the power to bend reality to its will. One day, the entity visited Mel's dream disguised as an old woman. The old woman explained that Mel's selfishness must change, or he'll be trapped in that dream for eternity.

This scared the boy, who begged the entity to let him go. The entity agreed and told the boy that he could only be released once he learned to share with others.

After that, the entity told Mel that he had to pass a test. Mel agreed and took the test, but after trying it ninety-nine times, the boy could still not pass the test. No matter how hard he tries, Mel will not share every time he is asked to lend someone his stuff.

Fortunately, on his 100th attempt, Mel was finally able to pass the test. After that incident, Mel became less selfish, afraid that the mysterious entity would visit him again.
