Despite his advanced age, he believes he still inspires the same fear as before, and the audacity and brazenness he had in his youth do not seem to have diminished over the years. He is a human being who seems to thrive on disaster and enjoys being in the midst of chaos. At his side, as his wife, companion, and accomplice, is Maeve Harrigan, arrogant, cruel, and ruthless, who believes herself to be smarter than she really is and doesn't care who she has to eliminate to achieve her goals.

Unfortunately, this duo of lunatics had offspring who do not seem to have the same cold-bloodedness as them. Seraphina, Conrad's illegitimate daughter, whom he openly loves more than anyone else, is cunning and intelligent and lives off her father's favor, yet she has a good relationship with her brothers. Brendan, inept at business and overshadowed by his siblings, whose greatest desire is to sit at the table with the big boys and redeem himself in his father's eyes. And the youngest of the three, Kevin, who can't control his own family, just wants peace, although to achieve it he always needs to resort to the help of his friend Harry. Finally, there is Eddy Harrigan, Kevin's disastrous son, a potential psychopath who creates disasters just by breathing. As if he didn't have school to go to, his actions unleash a hurricane of chaos. Everything comes to a head when Richie Stevenson's son disappears and the last person to see him alive was Eddy.

As the first episode unfolds, one wonders how a family with such dysfunctional members has managed to stay alive and remain in the game. But above all, how have people like Conrad and Maeve Harrigan managed to grow old (I admit that after watching the first two episodes, I asked myself this question)? Three powerful words: Harry Da Souza. The protagonist and main attraction of this series, played by Tom Hardy, is a character who, as soon as you see him on screen, makes you wonder, “What the hell is a guy like him doing in a family like that?” Simple: first, he's Kevin's friend, and second, as he himself says, he's no Lionel Messi; he can't switch sides as easily as he can change his shirt, because the day they come after him, he knows it will only be “business.”

Harry is a kind of mediator, or rather “consigliere,” for the Harrigan family. He has the cunning, courage, and style necessary to be more than just the guardian of a criminal family. He fixes the messes of this rebellious family and sets the stage for each episode. Harry evokes the true figure of organized crime. His experience, charisma, and skill make him the “magic” of the series, while he has to deal with the chaos of others, solve it, and clean it up, so he never rests, because, in reality, the Harrigan family destroys with their feet what they build with their hands, and it seems that they step on all the landmines they find on purpose.

This series shows the harshness of the criminal world, with scenes of violence that show what life is like in a family dedicated to crime. The madness that some characters seem to harbor is surprising to see, and as the episodes progress, the secrets, deceptions, and buried dead of the Harrigan family seem to come to light. Tierra de mafia nos retrata una historia que se aleja de los cánones convencionales predominantes y ya establecidos en el cine y la televisión de mafiosos, alejándose de la mística que suele envolver a la historia y sus personajes, así como su casi romanización del crimen organizado.

Tierra de mafia nos sitúa en un mundo donde los que alguna vez fueron leyenda hoy envejecen, dónde el respeto es todo y a la vez nada y en dónde el poder se obtiene derramando sangre.
De acción, drama, violencia explícita, humor oscuro y unos gritos a la pantalla por las acciones de los personajes. La locura y los secretos emergen como “bombas bajo la alfombra”

Esta serie, de tan solo 10 capítulos, nos presenta a la controvertida, visceral y desastre nivel bomba nuclear a punto de detonar que es la familia Harrigan, una familia criminal de abolengo, líderes en el crimen organizado, que para hacer enemigos es el número uno. La familia Harrigan se encuentra en abierta guerra con otra familia criminal, los Stevenson, por el deseo de acabar a la otra y por el control de todo.

Pero sobretodo, como seres como Conrad y Maeve Harrigan llegaron a viejos (admito que apenas vi los dos primeros capítulos me pregunté esto), tres poderosas palabras: Harry Da Souza. El protagonista y más grande atractivo de esta serie, interpretado por Tom Hardy, un personaje que apenas vez en pantalla te hace preguntar ¿Qué rayos hace un tipo como él en una familia como esa?, Sencillo, primero es amigo de Kevin y segundo el mismo lo dice no es Lionel Messi, no puede cambiar de bando tan sencillo como lo es cambiar de camisa, porque el día que vayan tras él, sabe que solo serán “negocios”.

Harry, es una especie de solucionador o mejor dicho “consiglieri” de la familia Harrigan. Posee la agudeza, las agallas y el estilo para ser más que el perro guardián de una familia criminal, arregla los desastres de esta descarriada familia y establece el panorama sobre el que girara cada capítulo. Harry evoca la verdadera figura de lo que es el crimen organizado, su experticia, aura y habilidad lo convierten en la “magia” del programa, todo esto mientras tiene que lidiar, resolver y limpiar el caos de otros, cuestión por la que nunca descansa, porque de verdad, de verdad que la familia Harrigan lo que hace con las manos lo destruye con los pies y en cada mina terrestre que encuentran parece que meten el pie a propósito.
