Hope for the best, and prepare for the Worst...

I hope you are correct @pfunk but when TPTB is pushing everything so close to the edge, smaller factors have a much larger negative impact!!

Best policy, I really Want to be wrong, and for @pfink to be right! If so, I am in the country, by a huge lake, fishing fur fun; with a large city close(but no too close). But if History repeats, I can feed my family, and be hidden enough to drop off the map entirely! I pray I'm wrong, but just in case I'm not....

I know you are properly prepared, but for the audience you have, I am stating that obviously, foraging and hunting will only last so long, especially if most city dwellers leave the cities and come out seeking sustenance. I saw your hydroponics barrels and that is an awesome setup, very good and sustainable. I really need to do that here

It will be more difficult, but Keystone lake is 500,000 surface acres, and the homestead is 30 miles out (if you know how to find it) with no highways close. There are a lot of more accessable places that will absorb most of the surge.

I will have a garden for canning and fermentation, a raised bed greenhouse for extending the growing season, and the wallipini (with an earth battery) for year round aquaponics.

It t will be a small, well armed community on the backside of nowhere....

Very awesome, I know you will be capable even if the hunting, fishing and foraging taper off... šŸ‘

Been studying herbals, to pick where socialized medicine fails. Pretty open field these days!

I've purchased many of these 'weed' seeds to grow what we need!

I'm not as good as our Aussie friend, but I've taken deer at a quarter mile, so we will eat okay.
