MY EXPECTATION vs THE REALITY.

A warm greetings to the prestigious ladies in here and yes! It’s yet another beautiful day to share our stories with one another. I must say that I have really been busy over the past weeks and I know for sure that I missed a whole lot but at least I am here now and can’t let this contest slide.
So first we all know how that moment could be when you are so positive about yourself and expecting that what you have decided to do will definitely come out all perfect and nice and most times when the result turns out to be the other way round, you often feel so disappointed in yourself. So today I’ll be talking about something very disheartening that happened to me.
Now it was one of my girlfriends birthday and she has really been such a good friend with a good heart and a positive influence to me and my entire family at large. I really wanted to make her birthday unique and special so I decided I was going to bake and decorate a cake for her and that would equally have been the first cake I have dressed so I was so excited about the entire baking process. I began working vigorously and had everything planned out, I wanted a three layer butter cream cake and so I finished the baking process and was set to dress the cake. I actually divided the cake into the three layers and then had my butter cream in-between each layer. At some points, I noticed that the sides were not equal and I consoled myself with the fact that I will fill those holes with the butter icing. After several attempt of covering the cake, it still didn’t work out. All magic and cake ideas proof abortive, seconds flew into minutes and then hours but it wasn’t working so I knew that my expectations for this cake was cut shut. I sat there staring at the cake for some minutes and just didn’t imagine that it could be real, somehow I wished it was a dream. I asked several questions like;
What did I miss?
Where did I go wrong?
What is it that I didn’t do right?
Yet no answer came to mind, now all I did was just to cut a part of the cake and wrap it in a foil then I got a pack of fruit juice to compliment my token then took it to her, she smiled and received it with all her heart not knowing the huddles behind the cake.
For me my expectation and the reality of what I got as the result are two opposite things. gosh! I couldn’t even snap the cake (lol) trust me, it wasn’t a pleasant experience but I learnt a whole lot from. The good side is that I still made my friend smile on her birthday.
