Time is money and we all want more money, right? Time is also a limited resource that you can never get more of. While it’s important to save and earn money, I’d argue maximizing your time is even more important.

Impossible is nothing they say . If that’s so does it mean one can achieve a whole lot by doing less ? Yeah right it’s actually a possibility and it’s no rocket science trust me !

These days to be productive in all ramifications one has to endeavor to be more efficient than the average person. How is this possible ? It’s simple ! It all boils down to our level of understanding of how and when to effectively prioritize our time . I’m sure the “work smart not hard” phrase must be ringing in your ears now . Exactly! That should be our motive towards achieving maximum productivity.

Par adventure you’re aiming to start working smarter and not harder it is essential to understand when to work, how to prioritize and most importantly understand and figure out what the pestering distractions are .

Indeed there is time for everything . As individuals we should be able to distinguish , differentiate and allocate our time to various activities.

You simply aren’t your best self when you’re tired. Even if you think something absolutely needs to be done by a certain time, it could take you 200–300% more time by doing it when you’re tired than when you’re bright eyed , init?!

Therefore, understanding when you are at your peak performance is one of life’s greatest lessons. You could get double the amount of work done in half the time if you zero in on those bursts of maximum efficiency.

For me, I am not a 9-5er so that time period for me is in the wee hours of the morning most importantly and then again right before dinner time. The amount of work I’m able to accomplish between those hours is astounding.

Ever since joining Hive for example , I’ve noticed I tend to be more active on here in the wee hours of the morning . At this point in time I’m always having a crystal clear head to assimilate and digest various quality posts on here . I mean that absolute works for me . Not like I don’t get things done on here during the day but it’s just always better during the wee hours .

Knowing that I’m never my best after lunchtime, I don’t try to work after that. Yeah I might answer messages sporadically , run errands, but I don’t attempt to touch any of my deep-focus work between the hours of 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm.

Part of understanding when to work is understanding what thow to prioritize one’s time. In prioritizing one’s time it is essential to take note of what really attracts value .

For a fact you can’t prioritize your life properly if you don’t know your values. The rat race of never-ending deadlines and Zoom meetings is pointless if your work doesn’t align with your values.

I’m sure my values are different than yours so it would be pointless for me to tell you how to prioritize your values and time. You need to learn for yourself what is most important for you to live a happy, fulfilled life and then align your schedule accordingly.

By combining priority of tasks with only working at hours you feel the most efficient and productive, you’ll be able to meet any deadline and reduce unnecessary stress I feel .

Feeding one’s focus and starving the distractions is one life hack that can’t lose its potency . Understanding what our distractions are will always go a long way in effectively helping us time productive. A very straightforward way to achieve more by doing less is to minimize distractions.

For many the social media world is a major distraction when it comes to being productive. For some our overly-connected world isn’t even the main issue maybe it’s environment, i.e. a loud neighbor, roommate, or pet. Then you’ll want to find ways to minimize these distractions as well. Once you understand what distracts you, you can make the necessary shifts in your routine to maximize your time.

On a final note, You can achieve more by doing less as long as you learn when and how you should work. There will always be more money to make and more tricks to save money, but (so far) there isn’t a way to turn or freeze back time. With more time in the day, you can create more opportunities to make money. You also can make yourself a less stressed, happier person.

So tell me , how do you work smart and not hard ?I would like to have your views and opinions too , I’m still certainly a work in progress .
