There are always strategies for success. I preach about doing more things that work. But doing things that work with wrong strategies could end up in failures.

In 1960, Bennett Cerf, a founder of a publishing company had a bet of 50$ with Theo Geisel, who we all know as Dr Seuss. The bet was a really straining bet. Bennett said Theo will not will be able to write an entertaining book for just 50 different words in it.

Thinking about this on the surface, how would someone write a complete book with just 50 words. A short blog is even more than 50 words.

However, Dr Seuss took the bet and millions of people feel the impact. On August 12, 1960, the book, Green Eggs and Ham was published and over 8 million copies have been sold worldwide. This makes it one of the most selling children books of all time and the most popular work from Dr Suess.

So, the bet turned into a massive success for Dr Suess. We may see this as luck but there is a lot to it. Playing with just 50 words to have massive success is beyond just luck. There are lessons in this that we all can learn from and form a better habit with our lives.

The Potential in Limitation.

The key success in Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Suess is understanding the powers in setting limits.

You may never have enough in life to achieve the things you want to. You can set limits for yourself in building your business, health, or life in general. Having too many options can make you confuse and fail.

I live in a country where there is a lot of limitations. But I always turn most of the limitations I have to creativity and they give me bigger results.

Limitation expands your creativity.

If you are limited to some things you find an extra way to get a result. If you play basketball and have a height of 5.5ft, you will find more ways to score than someone with 6.5ft.

If you have the zeal for success and have lesser opportunities, you will create more chances for yourself than someone that have lots of options.

I am a living example of this. I tried all my possible best to join the Immigration Service in my country but I could not because everything work with connections in my country, but currently, I make far more than I would be making as an Immigration officer.

Limitation is not the problem.

Many of us complain about the limitation we have. We say, "I would have been in this place but I could not because of this."

  • "I don't have enough money and resources to start my business."
  • "I am not tall so I can't play basketball"

The limitation is not the problem because everyone has limitations but in different areas. You just need to know your limitations and find ways around them.

The size of your art.

50 words were the size of Dr Suess art and he made the best out of it. We are all given sizes and we must make the best out of them. Most of us battle with time. We do not have enough time to finish our works and necessities.

I have a little health challenge that requires me to always exercise daily and I have to jump rope thousands of times in just 30 minutes. I have been working at the same time daily and I am getting better.

So, you will surely have limitations. Do you have only $200 to start your business? $200 is the size of your art, work with it.

Do you have only 20min to write daily? That is the size of your art, work with it.

Do you have 1hr to code daily? That is the size of your art, make it better.

You will always have limitations but can make the best results out of them if you paint your art well.

Thank you for reading.
