Drying the feathers in autumn-Cormoran
Hi friends feathered
Today I present these Cormorants.

They suffer like me the autumn climate, since these birds are great hunters under the water, it is there where they look for their food, they spend the day flying and submerging in the cold waters of the river.
But like all animals, it has to take care of its fur, in this case its feathers and that is what we see here.

In summer, with a few minutes in the sun, they do it, but we are in autumn with a rainy climate and the skies full of clouds that do not let a ray of sun pass through.
The drying of the feathers costs them much more and here we see them.

This is his favorite place to dry off, the stones are higher than the water and they all come together, sometimes I fantasize thinking that it is the same as a big family and the same they are.

Or they simply coincide here because the river is a healthy river with abundant fish for small fish that swim calmly until the hard beak of the cormorant catches or hunts them.
In summer we have the privilege of seeing them with the fish in their beaks flying to the nests where they have their young, now they just dry and rest.

I like to watch them and see how they dive, endure a lot under the water looking for their livelihood.
You hope that it comes out in a certain place since it seems appropriate and they go much further.

Having fauna in the rivers is a symptom of well-being and that the river fulfills the conditions to have life, I know a lot about that we were an industrial city where all the waste ended up in it and its life was null, a brown estuary with a bad smell, the fish could not live since the water did not have enough oxygen.

All that changed years ago and the estuary was cleaned up and drained, removing the mud from the bottom with polluting materials.
Today it is a living estuary full of animals, many kinds of birds as I have ever put you, the fishermen throw their rods to catch fish, such as cormorants.
That has resulted in water of a normal color and although it looks dark here it is during the day.

In this particular area, we walkers stop to observe them and we can almost say what they are doing, as if we had the mind of birds or we believe that they are like us talking about our things.

-What colder water is today and my feathers do not dry out.
- Did you catch something today?
- My leg hurts I think I was injured while diving, I have a good cream for you to give yourself a scrub.
-With the rains and the wind the nest has been soaked, I will have to gather herbs and sticks and rebuild it.

But that's what I think, a two-legged human, who doesn't have to dive to put food in her mouth and who only dives for pleasure.
That I don't have wings to groom and care for, because she is not my means of transportation and life.

When I see them so wild, only one thing comes to my mind and look at that is difficult when my head is buzzing with things all thought at the same time lol that's how I am.

We must take care of nature is something that has to take priority in our life, to see them and all the plants and life that comprise this globe that we call Earth, where we all live and that we all depend on it.

Recycle and recycle, do not throw away plastics and take care of our house since we only have this one and she is sick, she herself screams and asks for mercy and measure, if necessary we will put our wings to dry for the good of the planet.

Me gustan estas aves. El año pasado, más o menos por estas fechas, había en Madrid una pequeña colonia de cormoranes, que se habían instalado en el Parque del Retiro y cuya visión causó expectación. Gracias por volver a recordármelo. Feliz día
