Ugly, ugly, silver!

Look at all these ugly silver coins I got in my email today:

Let's have a quick look!

1 x Two drachma, 10g of 0.835 silver

received_1004045966917302.jpegreceived_402457918348140.jpeg

1 Napoleon 2 francs, 1867, 10 g of 0.835 g

The next one judging from the size and from what is left from the engravings is most probably a
20 Kreuzer - Franz I, 6.68 g of 0.583 silver

received_1376886059417378.jpegreceived_3019557171690023.jpeg

Next, 50 Greek cents from 1874 and 50 cents from the Cretan state. Both 2.5 g of 0.835 silver:

One sixpence from Australia, 1962, 2.83 g O.500 silver:

3x 20 Greek cents 1874, 1 g each, 0.835 silver

received_1042734563261080.jpegreceived_1013248685962666.jpeg

And finally 2 more 2.5 g of 0.835 silver:

If they were in perfect condition and if I did the math right, all the coins above would have 33.14 g of silver.

Taking the damage into consideration I'd say I got myself around 30 g of silver for a total of 22 euros. The spot price today of silver is $23.60 per ounce so I think it was a somewhat good deal, especially considering I added a few new coins to my collection like the six pence from Australia and the Napoleon.

And incidentally, the new additions are also the ones that are in the best quality!

Sweet!

The deal looks really cool.

That's about 20% in profits tho..

I need to look into collecting precious metals.

Any dealer in mind?

I not sure if I'm right. Centuries along people use to put holes in coin so the can tie a string to it, wear it like a necklace. And also it's like a show of wealth, and to buy things as it used as money !

Those silver coins weren't maintained and it looks like it has a lot of wear and tear. Are you going to buy up all the damaged silver coins too?

The purity of silver of coins is probably not 100%. I remember that in the US it was like 90% silver and 10% copper.

I think I have already gone 7 days without a pun on your posts. It makes one weak.
