Today the wild called for me! These days we are living in, we all need a refuge from them, a place we can go to, to just be! To escape from this matrix and connect with what it means to be a human, to be alive.

So today, after quite a full on week, my whole being, was calling out to be in the wild. To just get away from it all, to walk down a track and let nature embrace me from all sides. Morning Glory
greeting me, with it's vibrant purple flower.

And as I walked forward, taking the time to look up and what should greet me, only some Carob pods, on a beautiful Carob tree. I pick some and chew on them as I continue forward, so content and completely immersed in my surroundings.

Then to my side, I hear the tiny trickle of water, as it runs alongside me on the last leg of my walk to the river. I love the smell of wet earth and the feel of on my feet it as I walk along.

The way begins to open up ahead of me and Freya, my wonderful canine companion, quickens her step as she knows what lies in wait. The sun filters through more and I welcome the feel of it on my skin.

And then she is gone, we could both hear the river calling us, but I take my time, taking in these beautiful surroundings. Feeling so blessed to be able to visit such a place, with no other person around. All is well, all is as it should be!

When I reach the water, Freya is there waiting for me, looking so happy and content. This is one of her favourite places as well. Every time I get to this river, it takes my breath away. Surrounded by mountains and trees, with the sound of the water flowing, it is my sanctuary.

I strip off and dip my feet in her cold waters, letting the sun caress my body and the wind anoint me. I close my eyes and feel so at peace. I feel so alive, so connected and protected.

I then lay down in the shallow waters and let it wash over me. The cold, revitalizing me and reminding me what life is all about. How important it is to, just let go, to let these waters cleanse me, to allow these mountains, to humble me. To just be!

It's so easy to get pulled away from ourselves, to become trapped in a system that does nothing but hold us down. But if we remember to seek out the wild, to find our place in nature that nourishes and nurtures us, we can break these chains.

Don't confuse what we need, with what we have been told we need. There is a huge difference. Our hearts long for our bare feet to touch the soil, for the sun to caress our bodies and for our time in the wild. To reconnect and recharge. We are not meant to spend all our time between walls, divided and dis empowered.

We carry the wild within, it is that part of ourselves where our creativity flows. But the disconnect is felt by many and all it takes to reignite it, is to go listen in the wild, let the wind guide you and the sun inspire you. Slow down and observe, take the time to just be!
