Consoling A friend that was Raped

You will have to permit my blog today as I won’t be posting direct image so as to protect the identity of some people.

I have always being hearing about rape victims and always wondered to myself, who is always at fault the guy or the lady? Although deep down due to my home bringing, I always knew that there was no excuse for a guy to force himself on a lady no matter how she dressed or how free she is. For this this, I feel ashamed of being tagged with guys like that.

The incident occurred last night 10/10/21. She just got back from lagos as she came to school to finish up with her clearance. having known me for quite sometime, she decided to come visit me before going to her other friend's house where it all happened. A little something about this my friend, she is free to be with, very jovial, playful and when she likes you, she can go the extra mile just because she has placed her trust in you. But too bad it was all taken for granted.

At around 8pm, I heard a knock on my door on getting to open it, I discovered it was this my friend sobbing. Curious to what would make her cry (she hardly cries) I began to pester her to tell me what was wrong. "Where will I start from” she said letting out a great cry. On hearing this, I came to suspect but couldn't bring myself to conclude with that horrible truth.
The next thing she said was that "it's Juwon" immediately she said this, the next thing I could say was "did he rape you?" She nodded in acknowledgement.

At that moment, I was no longer myself as I couldn't think straight. All I could think of was making sure the guy paid for what he did one way or another but I needed to get his info first. After much persuasion, she gave me his friend's number which it was all she could give me at that moment. I was pained but it was nowhere near the pain she was going through at the moment but I didn't know what to do to make make her feel like a woman again. All I could say and do was embrace her and say "you a strong women, a lady with a very bright future, a lady with so much strength. If you can survive through ulcer, you can definitely survive this ".

She begged me not to take it up because of her reputation. I had to agree because it’s her decision but I am still going to do everything possible to make sure the guy pays. She had to spend the night at my place as she cried till she slept off.

To all the ladies out there that have being a victim to this one way or another, on behalf of the guys I'm terribly sorry for all the pain caused.

Just stay strong and keep on being the strong.
