Charlotenburg, Romania's only village in the shape of a circle

dji_fly_20230501_143624_104_1682950262744_photo_optimized.jpg

The other day I was looking for some information on the internet and I saw an ad for a vlog about the only round village in Romania, I had never seen such a village before so I watched the vlog to see what it was about.

I saw some images filmed with a drone and it clearly won me over, so the next day, being a weekend day, I decided to visit the village to see the only circular village in the Banat area and even in Romania.

Where is the village of Charlotenburg?

Charlotenburg village is located in Bogda commune, Timis county, Romania.

We had to drive about 47 kilometers through the town of Lipova, the villages of Neudorf, Zabrani, Remetea Mica and we reached our destination.

From the information obtained it seems that the village was inhabited mostly by German population, today there is no trace of Germans in the village, the village being very depopulated, with a population of maximum 100 inhabitants.

The first information about its appearance is somewhere around 1771 and since 2016 it has been certified as a historical monument.

Just before leaving to explore the village I wondered what I would find there, because from the pictures it looks fantastic, but what will I find there, if the pictures have been artistically altered just for advertising and marketing.

I haven't seen much information about the village and not much promotion either.

The drive here was acceptable, some parts were worse but I got over that, after passing the sign indicating that we had entered the village of Charlotenburg I realised that the villagers were mostly engaged in animal husbandry, I stopped a few times to photograph the landscape and the happy animals (sheep, cows), the fields were full of animals.

I entered the village and I found nothing impressive here, I took a walk around the village I noticed that in the center of the village was the school, kindergarten and church the rest of the houses were around these objectives.

My guess is that all the villagers of Charlotenburg live in the village centre.

Everything changes when you lift the drone into the air and view this magnificent village from above, the higher you climb the village reveals its beauty.

The best view was from a height of about 300 meters, from here you can see how ingeniously it was built.

My dear what was to be said and shown about this village has been shown and said, in conclusion if you don't have a drone you won't see much and you might not find here what you expected.

If you visit this village in the summer don't forget to pass through Fibis to visit the lavender fields of some of the locals or to pass through Pischia to visit the Murani Domains where you will find an amazing center of agreement.

If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.

P.S. The attached pictures you have just seen are taken by me with my mobile phone and drone, and the text is also designed by me.

Yours @triplug!😊

I recommend you to visit Romania, especially the areas where millions of tourists have not yet arrived, areas that are just beginning to enjoy fame.
But, of course, don't neglect the most important goals.
Thanks for stopping by.

I thought that it sounded too German for Romania, but then I saw that you mentioned that it was inhabited by the Germans mainly. I don't think that I have even seen a village in the shape of a circle.. or maybe I just simply didn't notice 🙂

Those fields with shadows are sooooo pretty! I hope you will take us to Fibis another time 🙂

Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!

You have noticed very well the German origin of this village, I looked a little more and I found out that the last German here in the village was over 80 years old somewhere around 2016, today the village is inhabited entirely by Romanian citizens.
I can't wait until these lavender fields can be visited and, of course, the photo shoots in the lavender fields can begin.
Thanks for stopping by.

I love all the sheep and cows in the village of Charlotenburg. They looks different with the species in my country, Indonesia.

It's great to see the uniqueness of some fauna in the world

Great post, thanks for sharing

You're right, it looks great from above, the true beauty of this village can only be seen from above.
I'm a bit sad that we have such objectives that are not highlighted almost at all, and I by mistake found this place, what to say about the lavender fields at Fibis, sad, it seems to be of no interest.
If you don't have a drone you can walk through this village and not even realize it's circular.

Everything here is round, hehe, this gives me the feeling that all the locals live in the centre of the village, hehe.
I can't wait for lavender season to start.
