Disassembling the old hayloft

Good day dear mates! It has happened so that most part of this morning I spent in road coz I was need to get to village of my friend who asked me and other friends to help him to disassemble his old hayloft. This hayloft as I know was build many years ago by my friends father. Now this hayloft became dangerous and not safety for my friend and his family because it could fall down. That's why it should be disassembled as soon as possible.

So first of all we decided to play it safe and to prevent the old hayloft from falling, we anchored it with a tractor.

After that, we removed all of last year's hay from it, which was stored there and used as bedding for domestic animals. Next, we put a ladder up to it and began to dismantle the roof.

To dismantle the roof, we needed to dismantle the old brackets and cut off the nails that secured the slate sheets.

For this we used a nail puller and an angle grinder.

Once the nails and staples were neutralized we began to remove the slate sheets one by one in a row, carefully lowering them down the stairs.

First we removed the first row.

Then the second row of slate. And so, row by row, the roof was dismantled.

After this, the turn of the main frame of the hayloft began.
To begin with, it was decided to separate the pillars that were dug and concreted into the ground.

Next, we decided that it would be safer to pull the frame together with a tractor, and when it falls to the ground, we can safely saw it.
That's what we did. We tied the frame with a metal cable to the tarctor, and used it to knock him down.

After that, we sawed the boards and posts using a chainsaw, an ax and a nail puller. And then they cut the pillars with an axe.

As a result, we received a lot of firewood that my friend will use to heat his house in the village and also for cooking barbecue.

By the end of the day, we finished dismantling the hayloft and putting things in order, and after sunset we went for a well-deserved rest.
